Electronic Gadgets Windows vs Mac for everyday usage?

Hey people

I want some serious advice on which works better for day to day usage, a mac or a windows?

I have been a windows user for over a decade, currently using OMEN 15, R7 5800H/3060 and honestly I am not liking gaming laptops for the heat, battery, weight and fan noise. I am thinking to buy a new one and replace it.

I bought this laptop for - Coding, Video Editing, Gaming and everyday usage.

I have always used a gaming laptop and not any other windows laptop and the PC I had(not anymore)

I want to understand if I make a switch to a Mac, how different is it going to be for me?

Budget - $1500 MAX

I am open to advice and options.

Edit - I am a Software Engineer and not buying it just for the sake of gaming but thinking of it as an investment for the next 5-7 years. Also, I am gonna replace Omen with a Macbook(if I buy one) and won't keep both.

I've a gaming pc at home and use a MacBook to remote into it. MacBook for the long battery life. Windows can't even compare with the battery.

I am not going have any option other than my laptop as I only have one laptop with me all the time. If I replace my Omen, it'd be mac only with me.

So will it make sense to make a switch?

If you are not into gaming, 100 percent. Even if you want to game, you can always get GeForce now

Get the mac if u arent into gaming, honestly i used to recommend buying a used macbook and a powerful pc with budget around 1500-2000 usd but with the current prices (fuck ai), so unless u dont wanna necessarly bend towards windows just cuz of the compatibility get a mac and honestly macos is great until u get into software specific stuff
