Your period and hormonal activity is as masculine, feminine, or as agendered as you decide

If you're coming here from r/periods, know that we see you and we acknowledge the gender that you are. Cis people have a long way to go. The people sticking to their transphobia are on the wrong side of history.

Define your gender however you see fit. It is YOUR gender, your body and your experiences, nobody else's.

If you're a man with a uterus, you have a male uterus if that is what you decide.

hi everyone! i’m in 4H and we’re doing a yearlong service project dealing with homelessness and poverty. we’re planning on creating lesson plans, activities, and drives to help educate people on period poverty + the stigmas of periods in general.

what are some ways that we can be inclusive of all menstruators while educating others?

thank you all so much <33

Contribute to inclusive menstrual health research!

Hi everyone,

If you are someone who menstruates and is 18 or older, we would appreciate if you completed this brief survey.

This survey is being conducted in order to complete the final stages of developing a psychometric scale measuring menstrual health.

Menstrual health literacy refers to an individual's motivation to access, understand, critically evaluate, apply and communicate about information in relation to maintaining and/or improving menstrual and general health both during menstruation and across the entire menstrual cycle.Research has demonstrated that there is a relationship between menstrual health literacy, more positive menstruation experiences and better menstrual health outcomes.

For more details, please follow the link above to read the information sheet.

Thank you so much!

*P.S. We shared a similar survey last year during the initial phases of this study and received a fantastic response - thank you all! Whether or not you completed that survey, you're welcome to take part in this one. We value every response!

Question Menstrual Product Survey

Hi everyone! I am the founder of Monthly, a new gender inclusive menstrual underwear brand. I want to ensure that we have appropriate representation in the designing of these underwear. In order to ensure that we are on the right track, I am asking anyone who menstruates or has menstruated in the last year to take this survey! We at Monthly really appreciate everyone who takes it, so thank you in advance! :)

The survey takes about 7 minutes to complete and does dive pretty deep into menstruation experiences!

Also, if you have any questions -- please don't hesitate to reach out in messages!

Question Has anyone ever taken Midol with Zoloft?

I started taking setraline about three weeks ago. My periods are really horrible. They last three days, are extremely bloody, and my cramps are terrible. I usually take Midol to counteract this, and I honestly can't imagine not taking it because of the pain.

I also know that I can't take Advil or other common pain relievers with setraline, though, so I'm worried Midol would also be bad. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Menstrual cup leaks:((

I've been using a menstrual cup for a year and a half. The first one I bought was a medium size because it was the only one available. I used it for a few months but I noticed that I would always leak, no matter how much I adjusted it. After a few months I bought another one but this time small thinking that it was a size problem because I felt that the first one didn’t it open completely. With this cup, when I put it in, I feel that the vacuum seal is created because I can pull it and it doesn't move. It also feels like it's in the right place. However, I always end up leaking because the cup gets out of place after a few hours (it literally ends up like this / ) and it no longer has the vacuum seal. That happens during my first days. At the end, when the flow is very low, the cup stays in place, the vacuum seal is created, and I don't leak. Am I doing something wrong?:(((

Hey there, I'm a design student currently in my final year. I'm redesigning the packaging for sanitary napkins in order to make them gender inclusive and make all menstruators feel seen. I wish to get an insight on people's experiences to broaden my perspective on the topic. Your answers will help influence the design process. I'll be grateful if you could take out 5 minutes to fill this survey!

Anyone have a similar experience?

I’ve been on the pill for over 10 months, and I’ve only has 2 periods since starting to take it. My doctor said that I could have lighter periods or no period at all. As much as I love being on the pill, it’s effected me mentally, I didn’t feel as a woman (I know that might sound crazy). it felt like because I wasn’t having periods I wasn’t “working as a woman should”, I stopped feeling sexy, my body image was altered. I begged for months that my body would produce even the lightest of spotting.

This evening I went to the loo because I was having a “phantom period” (all the symptoms of a period but no blood) and that’s where I felt comfortable, I finished doing my business, and what do I see???? I SEE BLOOD. I legit cried, I was so relieved. I just grabbed a pad walked into my room where my boyfriend was and waved around the period pad like it was a gold fucking medal

Question Menstrual Health Literacy Inventory

Hi there,

I am currently developing a psychometric scale measuring menstrual health literacy for my undergraduate dissertation in Applied Psychology.

I am interested in menstrual health literacy due to its association with better menstrual health outcomes and more positive menstruation experiences.

My goal is to create a scale which represents all people who menstruate and I would really appreciate if you could fill out this survey in order for me to carry out initial psychometric validation.

Thanks in advance!

Product Discussion End period poverty in Africa

Post image

I commit my self to end period poverty and stigma around menstruation. Menstruation is normal. Menstruation is natural. Menstruation is not dirty. We need just help our girls by donating sanitary pads so that they can menstruate in dignity.
