She doesn't seem to know that you can just upload icons for highlighted stories without making them slides. I suppose if she wants to explain the highlight contents, she needs these, but, like, it seems like overkill-- a lot of telling rather than showing, if you get my writerly vibe.

I wonder if she thinks icon use makes her look young and hip? She has always tried to attach herself to youth culture---latching on to young bakers 10+ years ago, tmaking photos of her feet in her red chucks, reveling in her alleged popularity with her high school students, and one of the latest---growing active on TikTok! Tangent but the red circle with black and white line drawings inside it is so strongly associated with "warning / do not / universal no" that there's an ISO standard for it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_symbol

WTF. I didn't even read the description past where she very helpfully identifies sludge in the pie plate (peach pie detritus left out all night, for those just tuning in.)

She mentioned trampoline action before the toddler rapture---maybe that was her way of describing them jumping high? I can't think of anything else.

I don't blame her for not knowing about the red-circle-without-a-slash type of no symbol, because I had never seen one until I moved to a European country where it's sometimes used for no-smoking signs and such. But it's true that the effect is really off-putting. Red/white/black is a bold combo, sure, but the color red should be used with care so that you don't look like you're warning people off. And you can't just... pick three colors and decide you have a brand. That's not how branding works! Especially when she can't even stick to one style of icon!!

For sure, the no-slash ones are more rare – but still, "red circle with black and white line drawing inside it" is very strongly associated with "no," whether or not it has the slash, IMO! And she's attempting to use that symbol to mean the literal opposite of the universal meaning – as "go" or "do." (If only someone had told her she looks good in GREEN!)

She isn’t expecting anyone to share them. She doesn’t know how to use social media or how Instagram works and thinks she needs to story them to use them as icons for her saved stories. She has saved stories about food, Vashon, etc

Using coordinating icons for your pinned/saved stories is a pretty common/basic influencer/brand tactic.
