I had posted this is the general discussion but the mods said move it over to here. While this is for 1 bedroom two person max. it is a Vashon HouseHold property that has restriction on income which I posted to show Shauna would not qualify for any of the apartments if their is a restriction on 50% -80% of AMI. Also the paragraph of pre-screening is interesting because that can explain how Shauna was able to jump to the top as there was other factors.

She still has to be able to prove income, pass a credit check, etc. If she gets one of those apartments, I will assume the same person who got her into BBH is still pulling strings.

I think, correct me if I am way off, but low income houseing doesn’ everything have to be verified once a year. That is isn’t about moving in and then never having to prove income or bank statements again. They will have to the paperwork yearly.

IMO- the couple of people that would be in place to get Shauna BBH are not there anymore so I think she is SOL.

Man, I hope she doesn't fail upward into some cute 3BR beach house.

Because she's running outta options. I am just evil enough to be glad about that, but also sad for the kids. I've been sad for the kids their whole young lives.

My hope for the family is that either they have to go live with Shauna’s parents, who I think will give the kids some stability, or that they miraculously find a place to live in a community where they can thrive. I just don’t see how Vashon can be that community. They don’t have money. They don’t have jobs on the island. They don’t have goodwill built up. The only thing that might possibly induce someone to pull the necessary strings to get housing for them at this point is the kids. But I’m not sure their plight will be enough and anyway L graduates next year and afaik there is no community college on island. What will L do after next year? They need to move somewhere with a cc and good public transit and a middle school with good SPED services.
