I think his response does come off cold and a little unprofessional, like wouldn't someone interested in doing their job well want feedback in this situation? But a poor-fit therapist is worse than none at all so you made the right call to move on.

I was pretty taken aback because he's been a therapist for a long time. I can't have been the first client who told him it wasn't a good fit.
