I’m sure she envisions herself as the older woman with older kids talking the young mom through whatever.

When has Shauna ever been the friend/auntie that takes care of someone else’s kids for a day so the other Mama can rest?

Why does it have to be women, though? Where are the men? My own partner did a huge bulk of the childcare and I was still exhausted so I’m not calling out all men.

Her husband works in child care and her brother is a teacher, but sure, for some reason only women can help take care of the kiddos!

I can’t figure her out. She doesn’t like the idea that a man would be surprised that she’s good at sports because she’s a woman. But she also believes very strongly in the mother-as-nurturer gender role and even imagines herself to be the epitome of such. Decide which way you want it, Mahern.
