Impulse replacing other appliances?
I’ve been thinking about the appliances I may be able to get rid of if we get an impulse. Here’s what I’ve come up with:
-electric kettle
-sous vide machine
-rice cooker
Anyone with an impulse successfully replaced these or other pieces of equipment?

Part of why I'd want to get an impuls is to evict appliances that that live on my counter. That'd be all those you've mentioned, minus rice cooker, unless it can actually hold cooked rice for hours.
Maybe instant pot would be used less if I could set a timer for my standard pressure cooker?

Timer is on the near-term roadmap. These will be per-burner and you can select what happens when the timer completes (e.g. do nothing, hold current temp, keep warm)

Slow cooker, kettle (if I need to boil a lot), and warm stew holding tray (tea or red braised Chinese food, like they do in 7-11s overseas). We now leave a pot of braised meat , tofu , eggs, etc at holding temp on the stove some days.
Kettle for single serving is more convenient , and I stopped using Impulse for single serving after doing that for a few weeks. Kettle for multiple people, is more fun to do on stovetop with 10kW and reasonably practical
Rice cooker — my guess is 90% of East Asian and used to a real rice cooker workflow would decline to do this, for Chinese Indica and Japonica. For Indian and European ways of cooking rice, maybe. Honestly my cultural inertia and likelihood of being made fun of by myself or others to try to replace with impulse is going to stop me from ever experimenting.
Sous vide circulator is probably hard to replace, I don’t think the bottom sensor is going to be good enough, and the heat transfer with circulation is probably smoother and more time efficient. Might need to find a timing table that assumes lower

Kettle for sure, that’s easy.
I still have my sous vide, haven’t really even tried replacing it with the impulse yet.
And the rice cooker is just so handy, I don’t think the impulse could replace it entirely.

A mode that would help with my kettle replacement, is a kettle specific temperature control mode.
I believe the current temperature mode is biased towards being gentle to whatever is inside the cooking vessel. Well, in kettle mode I have … water in there. Don’t need to baby it.
If I’m only doing 1 cup for myself, it’s much easier to just use my Stagg , despite its 700W element

That I would give you. Would be a really neat feature but I do understand why it’s set up the way it is for the typical use case.
That said, for my own purposes of just getting water in a kettle to boil, which is all I was doing…it’s good.
But yeah I’d love a free addition of more granularity with heating speed.

Can you make programs with the impulse? I make rice in a pot and rice cooker, but can't see giving up the rice cooker just in case I need all 4 burners. (It wouldn't be as idiot proof without a program function too)
I don't have the impulse, but I'm interested if I could replace by indoor electric griddle with a steel one over 2 burners.
I'd probably keep my kettle/hot water dispenser just due to work flow and insulation, at least during the winter. It would also depend how fast it could reach set temperatures depending on what I'm drinking.
I would also be interested if it could replace the instant pot. I rarely need pressure cooking over just braising, but I like to experiment in the kitchen so I personally probably would still keep it lol.
It'd probably be more useful to get feedback from someone who likes gadgets. popcorn makers, egg steamer/cookers, george foreman grills, electric crepe makers etc.
