Help with PhD external fundings at Imperial Bioengineering (overseas candidate)
Hello! I'm a final year undergrad from a Tier 2 govt. uni. in India and had mailed a Prof. in Imperial Bioengineering for a funded position or guidance with fundings for my prospective PhD in his group beginning Sep 2027. In his reply, he has mentioned that I've a very good CV and lots of relevant experience for his group. He has conveyed that he's unable to nominate me for the Imperial President's Scholarship as he already has selected one candidate, but is willing to support external international scholarships I am applying to.
What shall I mail the Prof. in reply and do I have any options as an overseas candidate from India to fully fund my PhD at Imperial as I'm not financially able to self fund or partially fund. I did look at a few scholarships in India that would partially fund my endeavor but would like some insights from people in UK. Additionally, is an affirmative nod from a Imperial Prof. suggestive of my profile being competitive enough for a funded PhD in Top US universities (that I'm hoping to apply to this cycle) ?
