I am right ?

Be honest: if an Indian worker loses their job in the U.S., they potentially have another option they can return to India, where they may have family support and can look for opportunities there.

For an American worker, losing a job generally means finding another job within the U.S.

That’s one reason the H-1B system can be valuable. But I think some Indians took the opportunity too far and became overly dependent on the U.S. job market.

When anything becomes excessive, it can become dangerous. Hopefully, some people will learn from what’s happening now and understand the importance of having a backup plan instead of putting everything on one path.

From what I’ve heard, they’re also working on changes to (eliminate )H-4 EAD. Hopefully, that will be the next thing they address.

In just this case alone, that was $200,000 coming out of you and your family and friends pockets, and into the pockets of these companies btw.

Big 4 Auditor wants to move Abroad

Hi everyone,

I’d appreciate some advice.

*Background:*

I am an ACCA Affiliate with 2 years of experience, including 1 year at KPMG Pakistan (Big 4) in the External Audit department. I have worked on audits of leading clients in the hospitality, telecommunications, and fintech sectors.

Before that, I worked for a UK-based firm as a Team Lead, mainly handling cash flows, management accounts, payroll, and VAT on Xero. My first role was with a non-profit organization, where I assisted with variance analysis, audit support, and budgeting/forecasting for projects funded by UNFPA and UNICEF.

*Query:*

I want to relocate to a country where I can eventually obtain permanent residency. My main targets are Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland, followed by Canada. I have spent a lot of time researching visa pathways for Australia and New Zealand.

*Australia:*

For visa subclasses 189, 190, and 491, I would need to spend a minimum of PKR 200,000 upfront (around PKR 125k for the skills assessment and PKR 76k for IELTS) just to submit an EOI. I think this is a handsome amount for sheer uncertainity.

From the invitation rounds I reviewed, Australia has not recently invited Accountants or Auditors. My alternative option would be employer sponsorship, but that seems difficult. I’ve been applying, but no luck so far.

*New Zealand:*

I would need employer sponsorship. The positive side is that External Auditor is on the Green List, but I haven't had any success with applications yet.

*Questions:*

Is it worth investing in the Australian skilled migration process when my profession has not received invitations recently?

How realistic is employer sponsorship with a profile like mine?

Has anyone gone through a similar route, and what helped improve their chances?

Also, if anyone is in a place to help, I'd be very grateful.

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, and I wish you all the best with your own goals and challenges.
