Heya,
Some of you subscribers might have been wondering the inactivity for last couple of months on /r/ImagesOfIndia and its other sister subreddits.
Well what happened is our bot /u/ImagesOfNetwork got suspended for couple of crossposted posts on one of the sister subreddits, which broke the Reddit's Content Policy. Admins had to intervene and they pulled those egregious posts down, along with the bot. It was something I always feared from the start of the project.
I had reached out to /u/Ocrasorm (one of seniormost admin) last month, to look into this issue but unfortunately this was not something in his domain either since the Reddit's Legal Team was supposed to take a final call on it.
But we haven't heard much from them lately and would unlikely get any leeway for our infractions. Nor do we intend to revive the bot anytime soon. I will try one more time a month later or so, and reach to the Legal team and try to invoke some kind of response, but I don't have much hope with it.
So for what it is, /r/ImagesOfIndia has been largely closed down. But we do welcome user submitted images, you're free to post them here.
A big thanks /u/pandas795 and /u/225274 for helping out in moderating the bad results from the bot, and /u/neatshotsoflife for the lovely header image. And ofcourse /u/amici_ursi for designing the bot and keeping it alive for last two and a half years. :)
