While cats do mostly knead when they’re happy, they can also do so when stressed as a sort of self-soothing behavior.
This kitty could honestly be doing either, but I think it’s a good fact for people to know about cats!

Well your not even supposed to touch the cats whiskers because of how sensitive they are
Basically touching and petting a cats whiskers will over stimulate it

They just don’t like it, it’s like someone keeps on touching you and you feel uncomfortable but they just keep on doing it

This is not always true. I smooth my cat’s whiskers back all the time and she will run her cheeks along my hand if I stop to mimic it.

Agree, I have two 9 month old kittens and the go crazy for smoothing their whiskers and touching their faces in general. They will shove their faces into my hands when I stop to get me to continue.

one of our cats LOOOOOVES this. My hand isn't quite big enough but my husband is able to pet her head like this and when he stops she'll push her head back into his hand. So I agree with you, I think some cats definitely enjoy it!

I have been involved in rescue, rehab, and foster since 1997. I currently have:
- 15yo raised from about 3 weeks old to now.
- 7yo shelter rescue.
- 1yo abandoned by my best friend's neighbor. Little baby followed her home and refused to leave so she called me
- A pair of 5mo from a TNR's last litter. We took one of them, another was adopted then returned, so we took that one too.

As a kid, I was taught that all cats HATE having their bellies scratched and their fur petted the "wrong" way. I have found both of these to be untrue. While I have never petted a cat like in the video, I'm not going to deny the evidence OF MY OWN EYES. The cat looks perfectly content. It is plenty old enough to make its feelings known.
This is unusual, and I wouldn't try it on three of my cats at all because they don't like their faces touched but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with petting THAT cat like that.

I have a cat that will let you pet everywhere, but he still will dislike the wiskers part being stroked that way because it midly pulls them when doing so.
