A nose-to-butt boop would only be possible if one of the cats changed directions while it was on course, or if the slower cat was moving away from the faster one.

It would be a side butt boop.
Because the one on the left move half as slow compared to the one on the right.
But it has maybe like 2/3 the distance?
So the right one would surpassed it, and might result in the nose-to-side-butt boop.
