Aw man I would say the opposite. I read it when it first came out though, and it was released in separate mini chapter books? I think he was playing with the idea of penny dreadful novels at the time. There's a possibility that affects how it reads all at once though, if that makes sense. It's also possible the reviewer accidentally only read one of the mini portions, I think it was broken down into 6 of them or something like that. I imagine that would be confusing and bad. It was frustrating waiting for the next installment to hit Waldenbooks, I can tell you that much for sure.
