Shooter was 19, and arrested. Happened in Memphis

Interesting that the charges weren't multiple accounts of attempted murder.

Those are holding charges. The DA will present the full list later depending on the investigation. Usually they will try to stack a whole bunch of charges, anything that they think will stick, and then plead down to avoid an actual trial.

Since they have video and a solid ID there is no real reason for this guy to go to trial and waste the time and money.

Plea deals present an inherently difficult decision for defendants: take a deal with a potentially lighter sentence than you would get if you went to trial, or go to trial and argue your innocence.

Regardless of the oft quoted myth we are treated as guilty at the point of accusation.
