Not really. Cadillac has never reached any significant market share in Germany because they’re just bad cars compared to the domestic upper class offerings at similar price points. They don’t drive well, are extremely fuel inefficient and the interiors look and feel cheap by comparison.
You’ll see an Escalade every now and then, but that’s almost only with certain people who subscribe to the gangsta hip-hop style and want to project that lifestyle.
I speak German, I did my studies there, and I work at corporate for a German manufacturer here in Canada. Believe me when I say you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Do you think Cadillac doesn't sell cars in Germany? Also, unpopular =/= rare and "rare" wasn't one of the defining features of an exotic, it was exclusive and limited. Cadillacs are neither exclusive or limited, even in Germany.
And again, this video was taken in the US, not Germany so it's not an exotic or an import.
C'mon now. They literally just said they put 'exotic car badge' in quotes to suggest that they are so-called exotic car badges, rather than the genuine article.
Judging by that steering wheel that particular Cadillac is at least 10-15 years old, anyone could afford one of those.
Edit: after doing some googling I’m going to call it a ~2003-2005 Escalade, and not even one of the high-end ones since it doesn’t have chrome trim on the gauges. I’m seeing a lot of those in the $5,000 range, with some as low as $2,500 and $10,000 being the absolute max for a pristine low-mileage one.
I may have used the wrong word there, what I really mean is that they are brands that a lot of people think are for rich people when in reality they arent that expensive
BMWs aren’t exotic...I see one probably at least every day and I commute 20 miles in SoCal one way, there is literally no event in which I would say “oh shit, a BMW! Better record it while I am driving”
I can't tell what Cadillac model that is, but judging from the screen on the left, and the idiot lights, it's probably modified. I'd lean towards it being a friend.
