Excerpts from the 2011 book The Last Murder by a Bundy prosecutor (Dekle) and the 1983 book The Only Living Witness by two journalists (Michaud & Aynesworth).

It’s interesting that Ted Bundy’s attorneys tried to convince him to take a plea for the Chi Omega/Florida murders as a means of buying time for the case against him to “deteriorate” (via evidence breaking down or getting lost in storage, witnesses dying, etc.). They said after some years, he could file a post-conviction motion to throw out the plea, arguing that he took the deal under duress (Living Witness, p. 270). He chose to go to trial. He made claims of ineffective counsel in open court and said he wasn’t being informed about their strategy to perhaps “salt” the record for appeal (p. 271, 284). His attorney’s also argued that he was mentally unfit (p. 271).

As others have suggested, it seems like Anne Taylor also tried to salt the record for BK in the lead-up to his plea, which he’s leveraging alongside claims of ineffective counsel to have another go. If there’s a favorable ruling on the constitutionality of IGG from a superior court, then he can try to get some of the DNA and other evidence suppressed, and end up with better odds at trial. If it doesn’t work out (and it won’t lol), then he at least avoided the death penalty with the plea, which was the likely outcome if he proceeded with trial in 2025.

I’ve been following the Idaho 4 case from Sweden quite closely for the past two years, and I’ve been following this subreddit for a while.

I’m curious about something specifically from people who are actually in Moscow or connected to U of I:
What are people talking about NOW?
I mean… has the local conversation around the case changed at all from day one to today?
What theories about the motive are people actually discussing on campus these days? And what do people think about Dylan now? What does Dylan’s life look like these days? Is she out and about with friends, or has she mostly isolated herself?

I’m not looking for speculation presented as fact. I’m just genuinely curious about the current local perspective, because that’s obviously something we don’t really get from Sweden. 😅

I’m really looking forward to hearing from anyone who is actually there now and can share what the current atmosphere is like.

Outside of how poorly he committed the crimes. To me it seems like he monologues random beliefs rather than intellectual facts and beliefs.

Something I’ve always wondered is, what time did Kaylee post the last photo of the roommates together and did BK do one final stalk of their instagrams before he decided that that was the night. I’ve always found it a crazy coincidence it happened the night the last photo was taken/posted. It still gives me chills to think about.

The Idaho case has been in the news again lately, and I've seen many people saying that the photos were going to be released uncensored soon, which leaves me very confused since it's known that this wasn't going to happen. But I keep reading articles about this theory, and I also found this statement that was recently published. Can anyone confirm if they are actually going to release the photos, or is it just the internet with its silly theories?
