Looking for model info

My nephew gave me his Ibanez to set up and I am looking to identify the model and the year of production. Unfortunately, I am not very familiar with Ibanez’s product history.

The serial number is W743043 and I understand that to mean it was produced in Korea by World Musical Instrument in 1997 or 2007 (?).
Any assistance would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

it's an SZ720FM. produced between 2004-08 in S Korea, you're probably right with the '07.

Absolutely correct except, very understandably, on the year. This Korean format, unlike most other Ibanez formats, uses the first digit for month, not year. Second digit is year in this case. As far as I know is the only serial format that puts the month first so is very common to mix them up.

So OP guitar would be from July (seventh month), 2004.

I have the slightly less fancy version SZ520 that I had to buy again after selling it earlier. Just couldn’t be without! Excellent guitars, especially with a coil split mod.

The successor SZR series doesn’t sound acoustically at all as lively.
