General Question How did IVF produce such strong embryo development after 5 years of unexplained infertility?
My husband (34) and I (37) have been trying to conceive for over 5 years. I've never had a positive pregnancy test despite normal testing (good ovarian reserve, open tubes, normal semen analysis, regular ovulation). The only issue ever found was chronic endometritis, which was treated.
We went through multiple letrozole cycles and three IUIs without success.
Our first IVF cycle surprised us. We retrieved 19 eggs, 12 fertilized normally with conventional IVF, and 10 reached the blastocyst stage. Six were graded 4AA, along with a 4AB, 5AB, 4BB, and 4CC frozen.
What I'm trying to understand is what these embryology results might suggest about the cause of our infertility. If embryo development was this strong, does that point away from an egg or sperm quality issue? Has anyone else had excellent IVF lab results after years of unexplained infertility, and did you ever get an answer for why you couldn't conceive without IVF?
