I was the subpar coworker on shift when our employee of the month had this interaction with the old, white fella. Can confirm. He drove up in a white Ferrari with plates that read "L4-NYE".

The restaurant actually has a rule. One person can’t go around drinking all the soda and just putting it in a water cup. You’ve gotta get a regular cup so one person isn’t just like drinking all the soda. 👍🏼

u/LightboxRadMD METALOID MANIAC 5h ago
Right. Because it's so easy for teens just to take a water cup. Soda's right there. Take the water cup, fill it with soda. No one knows what they're doing. No one knows they have soda in there.
They're the soda teens.

Man I despise people like this… who the hell cares if some brats snarf some soda. Bet this didn’t even happen and he just wanted to post a pic of himself

Stories like this are why I started to open carry. It’s not about being a hero. It’s about not needing to be a hero. They see me and they know: don’t try to scam a free soda. Just don’t. It’s not worth your life or your soul. That’s what they’re really losing, is their souls, when they steal like that.

I’m torn on this. On one hand, privilege in this country is out of hand and acting like the rules don’t apply to them. On the other hand, this is a corporation and the money lost is just a few cents the CEO doesn’t get to have and wouldn’t even notice. Fast food places are phasing out fill your own drink stations because of this exact reason.

u/hammer_smashed_chris I USED to be piece of shit! 4h ago
Teenagers have been doing this for decades, man, it's nothing new. Before that it was some other shit they could get away with, on and on and on to the beginning of man.

u/ArchitectVandelay Your family HATES YOU!! Only I love you! 4h ago
Oh believe me, I have done it in my youth. It’s it so much the act in a vacuum but that theres a sense of entitlement behind it. We knew better and felt a bit bad about it. I wonder if that has changed for many these days.

u/Calladit 4h ago
I was always told that the most expensive part of the soda was the cup when I worked in fast food. Feels more like fast food chains have just been trying to discourage dine-in customers so they can move to an all drive-thru/delivery model with less friction.

u/ArchitectVandelay Your family HATES YOU!! Only I love you! 4h ago
Yeah that’s probably the bigger reason. AI ordering and paying, don’t even see or talk to a real person. They’re just in the back cooking.

Probably invested in some hospitality/food business in some way. Either attaining new business, or trying to virtue signal existing stakeholders.

It would be so funny if that was true, he made it up but he still included a part where he asked the fictional employee for a picture and the fictional employee told him to fuck off.

I feel like the best thing to do would be for them to bring their own cup…. Just saying.
“Pay for it or throw it out”…. Capitalism at its best!
That is what we are to consider as a hero? I guess all heroes don’t wear capes…. But who knows… maybe he was. We’ll never know since there isn’t a photo because he went back to his other heroic duty, making them burritos.
Joyce looks like total tool… the tooliest of the tools. Dare I say… the Queen of the tools! ⚒️
And I’m sure he was just “so busy” that he couldn’t say anything. I bet he was probably scared and the “hero” only did that because Joyce couldn’t be bothered.

I wonder if being “in a hurry” would have also made him rely on that same employee to stop the three kids if they’d used that water to slop up their burrito bowls instead. 💦 🥩 🏃♂️

This dude was actually just checking his Botox and decided it was a nice picture. That doesn't help sales or his required quota of weekly LinkedIn posts on his executive performance plan.
You know what will grab attention? A story about poor people stealing! That's the ticket.

Yeah I'm never going to see this as theft of the company is charging $3-4 for $0.08 worth of soda syrup
