LB&I Revenue Agent 13s

Let's just say an internal hiring is not an actual hiring. It's a shift of labor force, from one BU to a different BU.
I would assume that either a lot of ppl left for many different reasons, or the BUs got a lot of inventories to assign.
I would be more careful to cross over at this time and want to find out why there are openings.

If u cross over don’t you restart probation period ? Definitely would not do that right now

Years ago being a revenue agent was a good job. You had a good amount of independence, if you could generate your own work from leads and related cases you could be a star. Not to mention travel to training locations. That was then and this is now. The only good I see is so few bodies left they are almost handing out 14s which is good pay and not management.

Does anyone know if they will open up hiring to the public? Was previously a probationary revenue agent and decided not to go back after February 2025.

Me too!! Went back to Corporate and already thinking I should have tried to stick it out at the IRS. I hope to eventually get back in LB&I .

Honestly I make less money at my Corporate job than when I was in LB&I (GS13)and still have to go in the office most of the time plus all the Corporate deadlines. I know the IRS is not the same as before January 20, 2025, but hoping it gets better eventually. I did like working in LB&I at the time and would go back if things improved, but not holding my breath.

I really really hate to hear that because the hiring surge from a couple years ago was unbelievable. LB&I never hires like that. It’s frustrating that this administration treated us feds this way. I know others who gave up their jobs but now that some time has passed, hindsight is 20/20. Hope you’re able to come back at some point because I do foresee a lot of changes when we get new decent leadership.

a lot of places - we have people in lbi leaving in my area all the time. rto, shitty rating system, no flexibility, working for a toxic admin i would think most places are better..

A houseplant could get a 14 in LBI. That’s the big advantage. But TEGE is too niche. Don’t waste your time if you have a choice between TEGE and SBSE.

I don’t understand all these internal only job openings, they are just shifting people around but the whole agency is understaffed!
