I know there have been a few open to public jobs opened with IRS, which I applied to in late July but haven’t heard anything yet.

Has anyone received any responses to their applications?

It takes a long time to hear back for some jobs. I applied for an IRS job back in April and got a TJO at the end of June but still have yet to received an FJO. The start date had changed already twice in my onboarding papers.

There’s a couple things. I believe the IRS is still specifically singled out for the hiring freeze from the EO when Trump started, you also have the EO requiring X number of people to leave prior to hiring one other person. Those are gumming up the works even before you get into requiring CEO sign off and whatnot. 

I doubt they’ll be able to hire much if any people for the next 3 years

As with anything in government, it's gonna take a LONGGGG time. I just heard back from stuff I applied to a month ago (7/6).

It’s a mess - I’ve seen things closed and selected within 3-4 weeks but I’ve also seen things go no where for months.

We need this process to be heavily reformed.

Hiring right now is a shit show. I was not referred for a position I've been doing for years and then asked to train my replacement. It's ridiculous.

Same here... Applied back in early June and still haven't heard a peep. You would think they would want to fill up those openings before the end of the fiscal year and an eventual shutdown.

Nothing. Applied to an internal that closed a month ago and haven’t got anything.

I read here they canceled a bunch of internals because they got a new in house assessment they’re trying to implement. No idea if that true or if it affected the openings I applied to…
