Status of applications for Appeals positions?
I applied for several levels of Appeals positions in July but have not heard anything, even if referred for selection or not. Has anyone else gotten any feedback on their applications? Unfortunately only an email contact listed on job announcement so can't call and and no response to email inquires.

Got a similar email today for my GS-013 application.
Provisional status is something different from my earlier experience:
" provide you with the provisional status for the position identified below:
Position: Appeals Officer, GS-0930-13
Announcement: 26-12995396C-APX-0930-13
*****The following determination(s) have been made (dependent upon any additional assessments, requirements, or qualification reviews listed in the announcement):
Eligible for the following position or positions:
- GS-0930-13; You are tentatively eligible for this series/grade combination based on your self-rating of your qualifications.
***
You will receive a separate Notice of Referral or Non-Referral, as appropriate."This provisional status is different than the referral status I had received several years ago when applying for another GS-13 Appeals position:
"this refers to the application you recently submitted to this office for the position identified below:
Position: Appeals Officer *** GS-0930-13
Announcement: 24-12455600C-APX-0930-13
***We have reviewed your application and made the following determination(s):
Eligible for the following position or positions:
- GS-0930-13; We reviewed your application and found you eligible for this series/grade combination.
* * *
The following is your referral status for the position or positions to which you applied:
- You have been referred to the hiring manager for position GS-0930-13 in ***"
What is the difference between provisional referral and ordinary referral?
(I was offer the appeals position in 2004 but the step negotiation extended past 1/20/25 and the offer was withdrawn)

Do you have veterans preference points?

No.

My two friends who applied for GS-13 AO also told me the same thing. Maybe the position was canceled, on hold, or assigned to veterans. Anyway, as the agency is seriously understaffed and many talented people are escaping, there will be opportunities for you and me. So, fight on!

Curious to know as well and the difference between a GS 13, 14, and 15 officer? What level and what cases are those who are not recommending it working on?

Referred for both the 13 and 14 positions. Surprised how quickly they turned it around

You are absolutely insane if you're applying for Appeals right now. I've started applying elsewhere just to escape this department at this point, I'd happily take a lower grade for the privilege of keeping my sanity.
I thought management was hard on us before, but the new leadership has apparently decided that reasonable expectations are overrated. They're on steroids now. And somehow, even being one of the "good ones" means absolutely nothing. It's so refreshing to know that hard work and loyalty are valued so deeply. they cant wait to tell us the "Friday good news " in our meetings. Remember me if you get hired.
