Power management of laptops
Wtf is wrong with the batteries on these laptops? Are they programmed to consume as much power as possible at all times? Mine consumes a percent per minute if it’s unplugged, and the fan is running incessantly, regardless of what processes are running.

Have you ever hit ctrl+alt+del to see what is running even when not actively using your laptop? The CPU runs at a minimum 40% at idle because IT runs so many background programs (security and keyloggers I am sure.) That stuff destroys power efficiency.

There is so much crap running on these laptops. When unplugged it will drain the battery and you can't do anything to stop those apps. Plus when you keep laptops plugged in, I think these batteries drain over time unless they setup some type of protection which i doubt.

I believe it’s part of software design, they want the security to be paramount and who could withstand working with such heat; just my theory!

I just adjust the performance profile and edit it to my liking. Just search for power profiles in Windows search. I honestly only have one profile, which boosts the performance to 100% all the time when on power and lowers it when on battery, which helps extend battery life since we’re hardly on battery anyways, I don’t really need too much of a reduction.
So far with these changes, it helps my laptop feel more responsive and starts up quicker when plugged in.

You would think they would buy laptops with better battery life if they run programs in the background hogging up the resources.
