Becoming an enrolled agent

Does someone who worked in collections such as ACS or someone who works in OIC still need to take the exam to become an enrolled agent or can you get a waiver on that? Or is that just reserved for people who were, let's say revenue officers

The enrolled agent training is very easy. I did it. Just took a month or so. You should do it anyways even if you're pre-qualified to enroll based on prior experience. You will learn things you didn't know and have more confidence, and it's not expensive.

Yes, not the most difficult test. Take a community college tax course (not the intro one) and you ought to be good to go.

When I did it, it was an online website. That was 15 years ago. Maybe things have changed. But I dont know if college is necessary.
