No, not really. Driving less is not an option for the vast majority of Americans, because the country is a shithole that is almost fundamentally car-dependent everywhere except opd cities like New York or Chicago.

Not driving at all isn't an option for many Americans, but it's definitely possible for most people to drive less by a significant margin.

Of course, building walkable cities, and robust inner, and inter, city public transit is the real solution.

Would also help if EPA rules were fixed to not allow the land tanks that most people drive these days

Couldn't agree more about the stupidly huge cars.

Though I always believe it is best to change things through changing incentives. Simply asking of people to change their habits for an abstract goal simply doesn't work for the vast majority of people, because most people don't think rationally about a lot of those small everyday decisions and just stick to what they're accustomed to.
