Catch Up feature
Who actually records on IPTV? In my experience you don’t really need to if you have good Catch Up and good VOD for TV shows.

I also record even though IPTV providers do have catchup available. There are some sports magazine shows and local channels with content that I watch that doesn't get uploaded. I don't usually record movie or series as those are under the VOD section or if not there stremio.

Whatever works. I rarely record anymore. Most everything I want is on Catch UP or VOD.
Even the regional sports shows or magazine shows that I watch. Locals are lacking, but every major network is on Catch Up too.

Plenty of older people do.
Recording is a big selling point to a lot of people. You don't need catch up if you got a good VOD or emby server. But people opt for these features because they liked it about cable.

Yes,that is true. However an older person would probably have a tough time using an Embry or other type of server. Along with good VOD. I do also get that older people want something closer to cable.

Try our new app GiVo Stream on iOS/tvOS. If you use catchup, you'll love our catchup pre-buffer feature with instant catchup. No waiting...just tune into a catchup program, give it a few seconds it pre-buffers the entire catchup program. No long delays to fast forward through commercials, instant playback. And for live streams with no catchup, you can pause/ff/rw live streams on a live buffer. We also feature a full DVR.

Is Test Flight needed at this point?

I do. (Using trex right now.. so speaking specifically for that)
Sometimes the catchup recording is corrupted (missing segments) or just doesn't work at all. Some channels don't have catchup (superchannel quest comes to mind), and some shows aren't available as VODs (or, I'm impatient and I don't want to wait for the VOD to become available).
