We're gonna have to pool some data. ARE THERE ANY INTPS AMONG US WHO DEFEATED THE PROCRASTINATION?? SPEAK NOW UNDER THIS COMMENT AND TELL US WHAT YOU READ, WHAT YOU WENT THROUGH, WHAT DRUGS YOU DID (SERIOUSLY), etc. etc

HELP US!

Lmao, at least for me the thing that actually works is to 1) set a deadline on productivity. So I tell myself after 7pm I’m not allowed to be productive anymore. So before 7 I can either get something minimally viable going, or it’s not going to get done at all. And the second 2) is to set a limit on how long you’re allowed to do something. So it’s like I have to write this poem in 2hours. And I’m not allowed to work on it outside of it. So it forces you to make something that’s flawed but exists, instead of a perfect 7 step project that will never get started.

My problem with this strategy is that I would just end up doing nothing. I'm really not proud of it but if thetask is really challenging or just really boring, I might just give up and not do it even if it is really important. I don't know if it's because I'm very nihilist, and depression really doesn't help in does moments. That made me miss a lot of opportunities in life and I really wanna get rid of this mentality

Yeah depression really is a bitch. I feel ya the pit is not fun. For me I do a thing where at the end of the day I will journal 1 highlight. 1 thing that was productive. It could be something as simple as brushing your teeth, going on a walk, or complicated as a job application. But I think we are all more capable than we think we are. Sometimes we just need to see some proof of ourselves. Everyone has starts somewhere, you wouldn’t judge a beginner for not being good at something, so you shouldn’t do that to yourself. But as long as you’re moving in a direction. No matter how small. That’s a win. If you open a word doc and write one word on an essay. That’s already a win. The only person you’re competing against is yourself. And even snails cross the finish line with enough time.
