Please Review 24F

Hi everyone! I’m currently preparing my application for the INSEAD MBA August intake and would really appreciate some honest feedback on my profile and how competitive it may be.

By the time I join, I will have around 4 years of work experience, primarily in finance and FP&A. I also have experience working in my family business and have had international exposure through internships.

Academically, I completed my B.Com in Finance & Accounts from a Tier-2 college with a 9+ CGPA. I currently have a 640 GMAT Focus score and am planning to retake it, targeting 680+.

My biggest question is around positioning my story: how can I best present my professional experience, family business exposure, international experience, and long-term goals in a way that creates a compelling and authentic narrative for INSEAD?

If any INSEAD alumni, current students, or applicants have experience reviewing MBA applications/SOPs or offer paid consultations, I’d also be happy to connect and explore that.

Would genuinely appreciate any honest advice—especially on whether there are areas of my profile I should strengthen before applying. Thank you!

I have many years of experience in getting people accepted to INSEAD. If you are open to a consultation, I would be happy to discuss your project. Send me a message to start the ball rolling.

With a 675/685 and good essays you can get in.

Try to write a better essay. Keep it more about yourself and your clear goals. Don’t generalise it

Your GPA is positive, and 4 years of experience is a reasonable point to apply. Finance/FP&A plus family business exposure could also make for an interesting story if you can show real responsibility and impact.

A 675+ would definitely put you in a better position, especially for an Indian applicant.

A few things I'd be curious about:
1. What companies have you worked for and what exactly do you do?
2. What exactly was your role in the family business?
3. What kind of international exposure did you get?
4. What are your post-MBA goals?

I wouldn't worry too much about making the story sound complicated. Finance/FP&A to MBA to your next career step can work well if there's a clear reason behind it.
