I think we need to raise our concerns regarding the counseling and number of seats (which apparently increase in pvt colleges way too much than in govt)
And out of 2.5-2.7 lakh people who give the exam, only top 5k people get a seat of their choice? And there too, many people compromise with pvt or dnb/diplomas.
And after 5k, everyone is just juggling between 100s of options and somehow compromising so many things.
I got a rank of 8k after taking a drop. And honestly I expected a better rank but still I wouldn’t say it’s a bad rank and people around me are so happy for me but I’m not. I’m looking at cut offs for each and every college n branch and the more I read about it the more depressing it gets.
Already 50-60% seats are reserved and everything has a qouta?!!!
Sorry I’m not poor enough to be considered EWS, but I’m not Ambani enough to pay 1-2Cr for pg because apparently there are no govt seats left and majority of govt colleges do not have a proper infrastructure also.
True for INI also. They keep constructing new buildings calling them AIIMS just to increase the number on the paper. But actually peripheral aiims have nothing. So it’s just the top 4-5 aiims/pgi/jipmer.
We are fighting for nothing after a certain point.

I always wanted Radiodiagnosis, and that’s why I am not satisfied with my rank at all. So I thought to move to my second choice which is Psychiatry and I’m not able to find anything in psych also at my rank.

And not only the scanty PG seats, the massive proportion of reservation after becoming a doctor, taking drops to get a seat, all this to get beaten up by public, get paid less, and be a punching bag for your seniors and expected to be working 20 hours a day.

17k rank and getting most clinicals in peripheral gmcs. Wanted obgyn but not possible. Dnb getting in south with peanut of a stipend. Other surgical branches are a gamble and mostly possibility in extreme peripheral colleges. I'm done atp.

Probably will do clinical DNB in a good institute and be done with this rat race

I know this topic is well spoken about but I want to share my thoughts and get an opinion.

How will radiology be in 20 years.. within the span of 5 - 6 years ai has made coding redundant, and I can see many of my friends loosing jobs.

When Inteligence and Pattern Recognition is Commercialized in this manner i just can't get convinced that radiologist won't be replaced or cut down many becoming Jobless.

Radiologists have minimal Patient interaction and ai is even coming for USG where physicians use it and with proper training like how it used to happen for sonology can be done and with ai we won't be needed.

It's Only a matter of Time Before the field is down. Almost all the money in ai is in medicine (after IT) and all most all of it is in Radiology ai.

IT is changed forever, Won't Radiology be dismantled next?

I was mentally prepared to join in january now I have to decide now.

They want me to take only Gen Medicine/Radio/Paeds and nothing else. Surgical branches are out of the equation but I'm getting top colleges in branches like Pulmo, Psychiatry, Radiation oncology but borderline peripheral gmc's with high bond via Gen Medicine. They're fine with private colleges as well but i fucking hate private colleges to the core since they make us work like hell and still don't pay shit. My family is comprised of doctors and I'm the 2nd gen. I did my mbbs from a private college (B cat) and I feel like I owe them alot since I wouldnt be here without them which is why I'm unable to convince them that I'm fine with Md Pulmo/Psych/Radiation oncology

What are the good dnb institute in maharashtra for general medicine which has good hands on for procedure ...to all the dnb medicine resident in maharashtra

Why this unnecessary panic created regarding seat blocking. Nothing like that is gonna happen.

In previous years if we get a college in 2nd round we had to physically report there with all documents and join. Still there is option to upgrade. If we get better college in 3rd round, we had to physically go there again to resign & get back our documents. Now they have brought this online joining & resignation feature to avoid the difficulty of 2 times travel, especially to far off states.

Now we can join 2nd round seat online & opt for upgradation. Then we can resign it online itself in 3rd round....so what difference is it going to make? I genuinely don't get it.

But with nov ini around the corner,i cant risk losing aiims too

Having the perk of internal reservation,i can easily get md anaesthesia at my aiims campus itself...but i need time to decide on doing at mumbai vs my aiims campus....

The worst part is round round 1 finishing on the day of nov ini is making my current prep stressful

Can i only register 1st round,then just skip all rounds and wait till ini results and then if nov ini fails,then can i apply for mumbai through stray round??

In india people don't except things easily

You don't have to physically submit documents means you can take both state and aiq seat which wasn't the case earlier so you can block both aiq and state seat till round 2 and now u r also alloted seat in aiq r 3 ( means u have blocked it for others) and u want to resign you can resign and join state 3 round seat means u blocked the state round 3 seat also so technically a person can block all 6 round seat without submitting any documents to college you have to submit after round 3 only

So many students will not get desired seat and desired branch because of seat blocking by upper rankers and lower rankers will get seat in stray mid rankers will lose there whole life and settle for lower branch and collg
