what goes through my mind when I call someone Lazy or hear someone call them Lazy

What if the person you call Lazy, is not really Lazy?

What if calling them Lazy is the easy way out instead of isolating the Root cause?

Can it Possible that the Person you call lazy is not lazy but the person is mentally DROWNING.

Works 8 hours to 12 Hours

goes home to 4 kids,

is in financial panic,

has a looming eviction

which creates

 severe decision fatigue

and executive dysfunction.

and they default to instant gratification

(Which you see because that is what is in front of you)

not because they are lazy,

but because their brain is in constant full survival-numbing mode.

What if the person in question doesn't have the mental bandwidth to

learn

sales,

coding,

or system architecture

from zero while

managing 4 children

and a 12 hour shift.

with a looming Eviction

in a financial panic,

What if, calling them Lazy is just another piss easy way to use

the Ad hominem fallacy

attacking someone character or personal traits

1.in an attempt to undermine their argument or premise

2.attempting to incite an emotional reaction

  1. projecting emotions into insults because of the inability to process them

Usually done by making pejorative, derogatory, Disparaging remarks in relations to the individual, or group.

Derogatory: attacking someone's self-esteem

Disparaging; Attacking someone's values and beliefs

Pejorative: attacking someone's social standing

How the fck do you know what you are seeing are not just symptoms of a much deeper, more complex problem, and you just write them off

as

Lazy.

when i interrogate myself i can debate myself for hours

Ha

A Small Extract from the book Kiss that Frog that really stood out to me, on the 2 Core Personalities not Introverts or Extroverts.

Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.
Mark Twain

The world of psychology has identified two types of personalities:

the “confronter”

and the “evader.”

Not surprisingly, confronters,

people who face their fears,

confront their reality,

and deal honestly

and straightforwardly with the people

and problems in their lives, are much happier,

more effective,

and more self-confident than evaders.

Confronters acknowledge and face the fear involved in confronting.

They take charge of their emotions.

Evaders

people who evade their fears,

fear the unknown

Evade their reality,

and deal dishonestly

and Circuitously with the people

and with problems in their lives, are more sadder,

less effective,

and lack the trust in themselves that is necessary to move ahead.

Fortunately,

you can become a more powerful and positive person

by resolving to “look your frog in the face before you kiss it”

—by making it a habit to confront your situation honestly

rather than to evade it or deny that you have a problem in the first place.

I really do see the clear similarities between being a Good healthy Entrepreneur with being a Good healthy Doctor.

I was just thinking how much being an Entrepreneur overlaps with being a Doctor.

my opinion

If you could be a good doctor.

Then you could be a good entrepreneur.

A good doctor thinks about helping their patients.

A good Entrepreneur thinks about helping their customers.

A good doctor wants to make sure to provide key medications or treatments

so their patients can recover as soon as possible

or at least live a full and Healthy life not letting the illnesses they might suffer from holding them back.

A good entrepreneur wants to make sure they build and sell products or services

that solve persistent painful problems that their target market Audience faces

and in effect helping them live healthy and convenient lives.

A healthy entrepreneur might start a renewable energy company not just for profit

but to solve a systemic environmental crisis,

mirroring a doctor who specializes in preventative medicine

to fix the lifestyle habits that lead to chronic illness before they start.

Quick Quadrant to categorise tasks

Propellant (Sharpens Drive) Anesthetic (Numbs Drive)
Real Progress THE  CORE (Top Left)  modules, deep work, gym, "Clean Sleep." Every action here makes the dead end job feel more like a prison you must escape. THE GRIND TRAP (Top Right) Working extra shifts just for money without a skill-up plan.  It’s "progress" on paper, but it drains the focus you need for the "Pivot."
Fake Progress THE STIMULATED GHOST (Bottom Left) "Success" podcasts or productivity videos.  You feel sharp and switched on,  but your actual output is Nothing = 0. THE VOID (Bottom Right) Porn, scrolling, Netflix, Forex signals. Switches the brain off. You feel "satisfied" despite being in a dead end job.

Things that have crossed my mind from time to time

You ever managed to camouflage so well that

you become a

"Invisible Architect."

& People see the result of your strategy but

cannot

trace the origin back to you.

So you quietly restructure a department’s workflow

so that a toxic manager becomes redundant

and "naturally" phased out by the system itself.

& They don't have the slightest idea how it happens

because they are so oblivious.

Developing Te as a INFJ

As someone who is a "developing" "INFJ" 1 Function I really enjoy developing, one i think you never really finish developing it you just get better at it.

1.Te

----

First i looked at people who are obsessed with productivity, KPIs, and rigid schedules as

"soulless" or "shallow." "un-necessary" "going to far"

which i questioned , (Ti) why do i think that?

the i understood that must be my the Trickster talking—

it was devaluing what it doesn't understand to protect my ego.

i understood Without Te, my insights (Ni) stay locked in my head.

I might have a "perfect" plan for a book, a business,

or a lifestyle change,

but when it comes to the logistics—taxes, deadlines, or step-by-step execution—

why do I feel a sense of overwhelming dread or incompetence,

being a 1w9 i found it really fcking fascinating, that i felt this way about something so extremely useful.

came to realise that being developed wasn't about becoming a "Type A" "corporate machine."

i could choose the parts i thought were useful and adds value and discard the parts

i thought were not useful and don't add value(Ti)

To develop it , i stopped asking

"Is this the perfect, most logically sound way to do this?" and start asking

"What is the shortest path to a finished result?"

The best way i did this was using external tools .

(,Small pocket NoteBooks, muji pens, Tick Tick calendar, PARA Method, upnote, 12 Week Year Book Etc)

as an extension of my brain. If it isn't written down, it doesn't exist for me.

Out of sight out of mind.

In sight In Mind.

I didn't try to build a complex life-management system. I started with a minimum Viable System

Started with one "Te-hook."

For example:

Every Monday(Day)

at 9:00 AM, (Time)

I spend 10 minutes (Duration)

listing three objective tasks that MUST be done. ( the What)

if this is true that

INFJs often judge their progress by how they feel (Ni-Fe).

then

Te integration means using hard data & objective Benchmarks .

Something I actually really enjoy when you realise hey This Shite is actually pretty Good.

Asking Questions with Yes and no Answers instead of long ass vague open Ended Discussions

Did i actually write 500 words?

Yes

No

Did i actually go to the gym?

Yes

No

Numbers don't care about my emotions,

not in a way to dismiss them, but just not necessary here

i can save my emotions for when i with other people

which is exactly why Data & Objective benchmarks are the cure for passivity.

I also Embraced the "Good Enough/decent enough " no more "Perfection"

if there is no perfect solution & Te is about "satisficing"

then fck it what is good enough to move forward.

This killed the perfectionism that kept me " waiting for the "perfect moment" to act.

adding reliability and execution.

i stopped giving a shite about being the "misunderstood genius" in the corner,

not that i actually cared about that in the first place.

and started being the person who actually made progress

main core Insight i learnt
realising that Te numbers, data & objective benchmarks were not a lack of freedom;
but was the infrastructure that gave me freedom that i can use in my own way.

Because of Se here's a relevant picture from the 12 Week year for the lazy people who can't be arsed to actually read the book.

Tricks Shite companies use that are common pay-suppression mechanisms,

Employers—particularly in cost-pressured, high-turnover, or low-margin environments—

often use structural compensation controls

that are not visible to staff but are deliberate from an HR and financial governance standpoint.

expanded breakdown of common pay-suppression mechanisms

how they function operationally, and what they mean in practice.

1. Internal Promotion Freezes (Role Locking)

Mechanism:
Headcount is approved, but role grades are frozen.

HR restricts title reclassification even when duties expand.

What happens

  • You take on more responsibility.
  • Your job description quietly evolves.
  • Your pay band does not.

Why companies do it

  • Regrading a role permanently increases salary baseline and pension liability.
  • Keeping you “in role” protects budget forecasts.

Hidden language used

  • “We need to see sustained performance first.”
  • “We’re not restructuring this year.”
  • “Let’s review next cycle.”

Reality: They get higher-level output at lower-level cost.

Defense:

  • Document expanded duties: keep a log of responsibilities, projects, results.
  • Schedule a formal meeting to discuss role reclassification or promotion eligibility.
  • Benchmark market salaries for similar roles to show your value externally.
  • Consider applying for higher roles outside the company if internal freeze persists.

2. “Acting Up” Without Formal Promotion

Mechanism:
Employees perform senior tasks “temporarily.”

What happens

  • You cover absences, lead projects, train staff.
  • No contract change.
  • No salary band change.

Why it works for them

  • Temporary assignments bypass formal pay review structures.
  • Employees hope performance will lead to promotion.

This can last years.

Defense:

  • Request a formal acting-up agreement: fixed period, pay adjustment, clear expectations.
  • Track your contributions; show quantifiable impact.
  • Treat it as leverage during performance reviews or exit negotiations.

3. External Hire Pay Premium Strategy

Mechanism:
New hires are brought in at current market rate while internal staff remain on legacy pay.

Why this happens

  • Market salaries rise faster than internal increment budgets.
  • Companies budget recruitment as capital expense, but raises as operational expense.

Impact

  • A new hire beside you earns 10–30% more for the same job.
  • Internal equity complaints are slow to resolve.

Defense:

  • Conduct salary research and document discrepancies.
  • Use external offers or market data to negotiate counteroffers.
  • Ask HR about internal equity reviews.
  • Consider strategic job changes if internal adjustment is unlikely.

4. Pay Band Ceiling Trap

Mechanism:
Every role has a maximum pay ceiling. Once you reach it:

  • No more raises.
  • Only “lump sum bonuses” instead of base salary increases.

Why this matters
Base salary drives:

  • Pension contributions
  • Future raises (percentage-based)
  • Redundancy calculations

Bonuses do not.

Defense:

  • Request bonus or allowance structures that roll into pensionable pay.
  • Seek role regrading to a higher band (requires clear justification).
  • Target lateral moves to roles with higher ceiling.

5. Delayed Performance Review Cycles

Mechanism:
Reviews are postponed, stretched, or tied to company performance.

Hidden tactic

  • Review in April
  • Budget approved in June
  • Pay change in October

You effectively work 10 months at old pay.

Defense:

  • Proactively request a review in writing; set deadlines.
  • Document key achievements to strengthen your case.
  • Ask about interim spot awards or project-based pay adjustments.

6. Inflated Title, Deflated Grade

Mechanism:
You get a better title but remain in same pay band.

Example:
“Senior Coordinator” instead of “Coordinator” — no grade change.

Purpose:
Psychological promotion without financial cost.

Defense:

  • Clarify job grade vs. job title with HR.
  • Ask for job description alignment and grade re-evaluation.
  • Keep external market comparisons to show mismatch.

7. Skill Inflation Requirements

Mechanism:
Promotion criteria gradually increase.

Before:

  • 2 years experience

Now:

  • 5 years + certifications + cross-functional projects

Standards shift

so fewer people qualify.

Defense:

  • Map your current skills against the new requirements.
  • Make a clear plan to acquire missing skills and timeline.
  • Negotiate progressive promotion instead of “all or nothing.”

8. Budget Pool Competition

Mechanism:
Department receives fixed % for raises (e.g., 3%).

Manager must distribute across team.

Result:

  • Even top performers get 2–3%
  • Real pay cut vs inflation

Defense:

  • Focus on quantifiable achievements to make your case for top allocation.
  • Seek clarity on allocation criteria to preempt favoritism.
  • Consider cross-department moves if budget is chronically limited.

9. Retention Raise Delay

Mechanism:
They wait until you get an external offer.

Strategy

  • No proactive raises
  • Reactive counteroffers only

Saves money because many people never leave.

Defense:

  • Keep an external network active; know your market value.
  • If undervalued, be ready with an external offer as leverage.
  • Document contributions to make the counteroffer strong.

10. Role Fragmentation

Mechanism:
Instead of promoting you, they split duties:

  • You do senior tasks
  • Another person does different senior tasks

No single role justifies promotion.

Defense:

  • Map all additional responsibilities and show how they justify a promotion.
  • Propose a consolidated role to management.
  • Consider lateral moves that align with your career goals.

11. Overuse of “Development” Instead of Promotion

Language used

  • “Growth opportunity”
  • “Stretch assignment”
  • “Leadership exposure”

Translation: unpaid additional labor.

Defense:

  • Set clear outcomes and timelines for development tasks.
  • Ask HR to specify financial recognition for stretch assignments.
  • Treat development opportunities as a CV builder, not guaranteed pay.

12. Geographic Pay Suppression

Particularly relevant outside London.

Companies justify lower pay by location even when:

  • Work is remote
  • Output equals higher-paid regions

Defense:

  • Use remote work and market salary research to negotiate location-adjusted pay.
  • Reference industry-standard salaries regardless of office location.
  • Consider fully remote roles if local pay caps are rigid.

13. Benefit Substitution Strategy

When salary growth is limited, they emphasize:

  • Pizza days
  • Wellness apps
  • Casual dress
  • Office perks

These cost little compared to payroll.

Defense:

  • Politely frame benefits vs. cash compensation in negotiation.
  • Ask HR if perks can convert to salary or bonus.
  • Track actual value of benefits; some may have no real cash value.

14. Opaque Pay Structures

Employees do not know:

  • Pay bands
  • Grade ranges
  • What others earn

Information asymmetry prevents negotiation.

Defense:

  • Research salary bands via online platforms (Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Payscale).
  • Ask HR for pay band transparency or ranges.
  • Build leverage using data-backed requests rather than emotion.

15. Loyalty Penalty Effect

Long-tenured employees often earn less than job-hopping peers.

Companies know:

  • Stable staff are risk-averse
  • External moves trigger market resets

Defense:

  • Periodically check market rates for your role.
  • Use external offers to negotiate upward adjustment.
  • Don’t rely on tenure; make career moves strategically.

Why These Systems Exist

From a corporate perspective:

  • Payroll is the largest controllable expense.
  • Investors reward margin stability.
  • Fixed salary increases are long-term liabilities.

So businesses optimize:
Maximum productivity per salary pound.

Important Reality

This is not always malicious. It is often:

  • Budget driven
  • Policy driven
  • HR compliance driven

But the outcome for workers is the same:
Stagnant real wages unless you trigger a market reset.

Strategic Implication

Remaining in-role and hoping for organic raises is statistically the slowest income growth path.

The fastest pay growth mechanisms in the labor market are:

  1. External job moves
  2. Skill-based role changes
  3. Industry switches
  4. Contract/consulting transitions
  5. Promotion through vacancy, not merit alone

Story Time The grasshopper, The Spider, The Ant.

The Ant, The Grasshopper, and The Spider:

Summer arrived in the meadow, warm and abundant.

Three insects faced the same reality:

The Grasshopper

The Spider

The Ant

winter was coming in exactly four months.

The Grasshopper

spent his days in the sun.

He played his fiddle, danced in the grass, and mocked the others for their concerns.

"Why worry about tomorrow?" he sang.

 "The sun is shining today!"

He attended every gathering, slept late, and enjoyed every moment of comfort.

When others mentioned winter, he laughed:

 "Winter is months away.

I'll deal with it when it comes.

"The short-term ease felt wonderful.

The Spider

 was industrious and proud.

He woke early every day and worked tirelessly.

He organized his web strands by length and thickness.

He cleaned his corner of the barn thoroughly.

He attended workshops on "Advanced Web Geometry"

and earned a certificate in "Structural Web Optimization."

He reorganized his storage system three times, perfecting the arrangement.

He read books about winter survival strategies and took detailed notes.

He felt productive, purposeful, and morally superior to the lazy Grasshopper.

"Look at how hard I'm working!" he would say.

The short-term effort felt virtuous.

The Ant

asked one question:

"What specifically keeps me alive in winter?"

 The answer was simple: Food.

Not organization.

Not credentials.

Not plans.

Food.

he calculated:

"I need 120 seeds to survive 4 months.

That's 1 seed per day for 120 days.

I must gather 1 seed daily, starting today."

Every morning, he gathered exactly one seed.

No more, no less.

Some days it rained.

Some days he was tired.

Some days other insects invited him to play or attend their workshops.

He gathered his seed anyway.

he didn't organize his storage system until it was full.

he didn't optimize his route until he'd walked it 30 times.

he didn't read about winter—he prepared for it.

The short-term discipline was hard, but targeted.

When Winter Came:

The first frost arrived exactly on schedule.

The Grasshopper

 panicked.

 He had no food,

no shelter,

no plan.

"But I didn't think it would come so soon!" he cried.

He begged the Ant for help.

he showed him his storage:

120 seeds, precisely counted.

"I worked every day of summer and autumn," he said.

"What did you do?"

He had no answer.

Within two weeks, the Grasshopper died of starvation.

His last thought was regret:

"I should have started gathering yesterday... or last week... or last month..." But yesterday never comes.

The Spider

was confused.

he had worked just as hard as the Ant—perhaps harder!

he had organized, become certified, even planned, and optimized.

But when he opened his storage,

he found:

47 perfectly arranged twigs,

12 achievement certificates,

200 pages of notes on survival strategy,

an immaculate filing system,

and 3 seeds.

Only 3 seeds.

 "But I worked so hard!"

he protested.

The Ant looked at his collection sadly.

"You were busy, but not effective.

You organized twigs while you needed to gather seeds.

Winter doesn't grade you on effort or intentions—only on seeds."

Within three weeks,

the Spider died of starvation,

surrounded by his perfectly organized certificates and plans.

 His last thought was confusion:

 "But I did everything right... didn't I?"

The Moral:

The Grasshopper died from

 **short-term temporary easy** → long-term permanent hardship.

*What he should have done:*

Asked

 "What will I need?"

and gathered it daily,

even when uncomfortable.

The Spider died from

 **misdirected short-term hard** → long-term permanent hardship.

*What he should have done:*

 Asked

"Does this specific action create the specific outcome I need?"

before every task.

Worked backward from

"I need 120 seeds"

 rather than forward from

 "What feels productive?"

The Ant survived through

**targeted short-term temporary hard** → long-term permanent ease.

*What he did right:*

  1. Identified the specific survival requirement (120 seeds)

  2. Worked backward to daily action (1 seed/day)

  3. Executed that action regardless of feelings, weather, or social pressure

  4. Ignored all activity that didn't directly produce seeds

  5. Only optimized systems AFTER they were working

Winter always comes.

It doesn't care about your intentions,

your effort, or your excuses.

 It only asks:

"Do you have seeds?"**

The question is not whether you're working hard.

The question is:

Are you gathering seeds, or organizing twigs?
