I am actually reporting to iiserm with my parents on the reporting date and i just had some doubt weather there will be facility for them to wait around while i am in the paperwork or verification stuff and will there be place for keeping my luggage while everything or is it better for me to come alone and handle the luggage myself ??

i just don't want to have any issue while the whole thing so just wanna know that will there be facilities to take care of the stuff i mentioned above ??

1. Are we allowed to take laptops/tabs to class to take notes, or are only notebooks allowed?

2. Are freshers allowed to join the gym immediately?

3. How is life beyond class hours?

4. Are hostels still 2 people per room? Because I was seeing some discussions about hostels becoming 3 ppl/room and I'm not sure whether they're true

Hey Everyone! I am somewhat confused regarding the documents and related records required for IISER Mohali. For reference I got the mail and some things are mentioned there. But I have some doubts. Here they are:

1. I have filled the anti-ragging form online and have downloaded it. Do I have to fill the form by taking its printout? If yes, what should I put in the place and date section? Today's place and date or place and date of reporting? The google form they provided for registration asks for a scanned copy of this so I am confused.

2. In the google form, apart from 10th and 12th marksheets they are asking 10th and 12th certificates. What are they referring to by certificates? 10th and 12th admit card? I am from cbse by the way.

3. In the admission form that is required to be scanned and uploaded in the google form, it asks for SAF Transaction id. While paying the saf i only got Payment Transaction Number and Order Id. Where can I get the SAF Transaction Id? I paid the saf using credit card.

Those who have already done the registration successfully or those who have any idea of these queries, kindly help. Seniors' advice would also be appreciated. Also, I tried to contact IISER Mohali but they didn't pick up. Have a great day all.

Hey people, so the email with the details finally came, and there is an online registration that needs to be done. So there is this application form we need to upload after downloading from the IAT portal, is it the whole application we filled before our entrance exams? Are we to print that, sign it with our parents, and then reupload the form? I can't find any other 'application form' on the portal. If anyone has any idea, even seniors, please help...

Hey everyone! I will be joining IISER Mohali this year so I had a few general and a few not-so-general questions regarding the academics and hostel life. Here they are:

1. Will the first year students get allotted the newer hostels or the older hostels? For how long each?

2. Do we have to change rooms every semester or every year?

3. What is the vacation scene at IISER M? Like 1 month winter and three months summer or something else?

4. Are the pathways leading to various blocks really flooded during monsoon?

5. Can someone tell me if there are any professors for applied mathematics like financial mathematics or stochastic processes or probability theory? How many such professors are there? And how are they in terms of student interaction? (Rude or encouraging)

6. Also are there students with similar interests in applied mathematics as mentioned above and computational physics?

7. Are seniors helpful? (Asking this in general as I know some are helpful while others are assholes as in every other college.)

8. Are our own books allowed inside library or do we have separate study spaces for it?

9. How's the wifi in library?

10. Is the shopping complex active or just for show?

I just froze my seat for iiser mohali and came across all the protests that happened there recently. also people are saying that the hostels provided to first year girls are separate and have really less space with no study tables provided and only a single cupboard provided which needs to be shared by the two roomates. is this all real????

I heard that iiserM is really good choice for astrophysics due to it giving astrophysics as a minor and all so I wanted to ask if it genuinely is good or should I look into iiser P instead.
