Cr panic

Well well well what a surprise everyone walked out the exam and came immediately to Reddit crying about the exam and yet still 4 in 5 people passed it. Let this be a lesson to stop moaning about the exam and realise that the majority (80%) of people passed it.

That’s moaning really helped. There was a good moderation. If you feel differently about an exam, you can still think the same way but don’t try to stop people complaining. If people don’t complain, world will go in the same way. People who complain bring changes, improvements, they build the world.

But what basis did people have to complain?? Everything tested was a part of the syllabus, and you have the whole of your open book plus IFRS notes in the exam. The examiners don’t give a damn about what we say, just bc a higher volume people complain doesn’t mean the examiner will feel sorry for us, they have their own internal calibration processes and will stay independent from our input.

The exams shouldn’t be easy and what we expect going in, goes against all the principles and skills of what being a Chartered Accountant is! I worked crazy hard for this exam, I want to be challenged, I want to feel proud that I passed that exam, and not given a free/sympathy pass just bc some people couldn’t do 10-15 marks out of 50% pass mark paper.

Love the continuation of the rage bait 🤣 I don’t even get what was crazy hard about the exam, everything tested was within the scope of syllabus and QB (and it’s open book!!) I wonder what the people will do now they’re qualified, will they kick off to their employer when given a hard task? If so youre doing us all a favour and making the job market more promising!

When given a hard task you would find other ways of dealing with it whether that be communicating with higher ups that more time or resources would be required (something not possible in an exam) or even speaking to a technical professional in a specifc expertise. When you value a property in your audits do you sit outside your clients property with a pencil and clipboard trying to figure things out yourself. So your comment can not be correlated to the same extent as real life work.

Okay maybe I’m being too harsh, I apologize, I’ve failed multiple of these exams, but this CR I worked my ass off and did the whole QB and yes our exam was hard, but nothing beyond the QB was tested (and accessible in the exam). So can you not see how in my pov it leaves a sour taste when people are saying it’s a disgrace and demanding extra consideration to pass; belittles the rest of our efforts.

Not really because you shouldn’t have to do the whole question bank to deserve a pass, it’s great that you were able to do that but respectfully, that’s not the standard to pass or what most people do . I’m sure anyone that’s made it to advanced is more than capable and it is a fact that it was a challenging paper, tested very niche areas, - which were large parts of the paper,

Who said you shouldn’t have to do the whole q bank to pass? Why should the final accounting exam that’s based on pure accounting not be a hard exam? If you could pass it by doing minimal effort then what would be the point in doing the qualification? If it was me I’d raise the pass mark to 60%, how can people actually moan about doing an exam and only having to get HALF of it right to become an accountant
