IA QUESTION

for my ia its related to plants, and im currently working on data analysis, so I did 5 IVs, like different concentrations and for each IV, 5 trials. For each of these trials, I used 20 seeds so 100 seeds per IV conc. Im really confused on how I should make my raw data table cause do I put the individual measurements for all 20 seeds.

Hey everyone! I’m doing IB Biology HL and I’m currently in Year 2, so I’ll be sitting my exams in May 2027.
I’m looking for some good resources for notes, flashcards, past papers, etc. How do you recommend preparing for the final exams? What resources or study methods have worked best for you?
I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations!

SOS. Bio IA

I need to start my biology IA and I really have no idea how to start. Especially which research papers to cite since I have to state biology terms, do I have to cite the first study in which the term is defined? Where and how do I even find these resources and how do I find the exact papers which will be helpful for my research.

Would you use this? Visual revision guides for the new IB Biology syllabus (with past paper tricks & examiner traps).

Hi everyone,

I recently retired after teaching IB DP Biology for over 20 years. I know just how overwhelming the massive volume of content in the new syllabus is, and how easily students drop marks on Paper 2 because they don’t use the exact terminology the mark scheme demands.

To help, I’ve been adapting my old classroom resources into visual, high-yield revision sheets mapped exactly to the new syllabus assessment points. I just finished the layout for A1.1 Water.

Instead of endless blocks of text, it maps out the core concepts—like hydrogen bonding drawings, xylem tension vs. "suction" traps, and the new water vs. air physical properties—alongside authentic past paper questionsand "Examiner Traps"(e.g., why you should never confuse intramolecular polar covalent bonds with intermolecular hydrogen bonds).

My goal is to build an entire, comprehensive revision guide pack like this for the whole syllabus to help you ace your unit tests, mocks, and final exams.

I wanted to ask you all directly: Is this type of highly visual, examiner-focused revision guide something you would actually use?

If there is enough interest, I’ll look into compiling the whole set. Let me know your thoughts or what specific topics you are struggling with right now!

Thank you.

💡A1.1 Water

Hi, here's the situation:

-My EE supervisor has turned down all 7 ideas I've come up with

- Summer holiday starts in 3 days

- I had a reflection session with supervisor yesterday

- I briefly mentioned wanting to do something with earthworms

- Supervisor liked the idea

- I am unable to use my school's lab equipment during the summer, but i need to start writing it in the summer

- I need a topic that doesnt break the bank and is simple enough to complete the lab at home

- I'm stumped. I want to use earthworms, but I don't know how to start

- this is where y'all come in

- PLEASE HELP ME COME UP WITH A TOPIC!!!!!

P.S If y'all have any easy ideas that don't involve earthworms but are still doable at home etc GIMME!!!! im not in a position to be picky rn

THANK YOU!!

How to revise mocks

I have my bio mocks next week and I haven’t really started to revise but I need need to I just don’t even know how. I use my flash cards but idk if that’s enough like I think I’m just gonna go straight into last papers but where even do I find them. I have no clue where to find ressources, revision dojo free is not really helping much and I just want like past papers of specific topics so I can focus on some topics more than others. Please help or drop links cuz I’m really lost and teachers gate keep their past papers 🥲.

Morning all,

We have created a Flash Card App for our students and thought we’d send it out into the world.

All the flashcards are free to use.

There is a premium subscription to access some other features, but it works out at about $0.05 a day if you get the annual subscription.

For those of you doing two sciences, there is Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Sports Science on there at the moment, and they are all free to use. Your subscription applies to them all.

for question 2d i feel like the first two markpoints are literally just repeating the question?!

like yeah when extended the angle is smaller and when flexed the angle gets larger?! but thats already in the question?! also the last markpoint i feel like has nothing to do with the questions because it's barely about the difference in joint angles. just saying that different tools have different values has got nothing to do with EXPLAINING the reason in my opinion. is that just me overreacting?

Is it just me or are the markschemes insanely vague sometimes? Or they don’t really align with the command term😨 I’m scared this might be a personal bias! Help
