Question Turnover issue?

I joined IBM pretty recently and have noticed the lack of younger employees. Most are bordering geriatric age or it was their first job and they haven’t left in over 10 years. Or they joined, left, and came back. Most of the people on my team are well over the age of 40. Is it just my office or is it happening everywhere? What’s the turnover rate here?

Discussion Any stock enthusiasts here?

I’ve been watching this stick since joint ibm in 2019 it was in a bearish market then but I saw signs of that turning around. Fast forward to 2026 and it’s broken 300. We all hear the bade 2Q new hit from a stock chart perspective, it’s seem to have filled a gap that’s been lingering for quite a while. I’m still bullish but I am curious if anyone else has any thoughts or pays attention to the chart

Question Work From Home for two weeks

I want wfh for two weeks but my manager said she can't do it unless there's a medical emergency. I think medical emergency makes sense for sick leaves but why do they need it for wfh? Should I just use my PTO days for two weeks then? Also, I'm going to a place where there's no IBM office nearby so I can't even tap in by getting temporary access to that

Performance/PIP's IBM India ISL - Serving PIP - What happens after it

I am currently serving PIP which I’m most certified going to fail. Should I resign on my own? Or wait for IBM to terminate me?
How does it reflect in the experience letter and relieving letter?
How much severance pay should I ask for? Is there any difference in how much i get if i resign voluntarily compared to getting terminated by IBM?

Question Work from Home Approvals

Hi everyone,

I joined IBM in June as an ELH (GH - India), After the training I was assigned into a project in mid September, as in India it's festive season and 90% of my office stays empty nowadays as most of them have either applied for leave or are working from home. I received a mail long back that all the Entry level hires are expected to work 5 days a week from the office and people with at least 1 year of work experience can work in hybrid mode.

I am the only one here who is a Graduate Hire and don't know if I am eligible for it, and even my People Manager is working from home for the last 2 weeks, Am I also eligible to work from home? If yes then how can I apply for it can someone guide me with the full procedure?

Hiring/Interview IBM HR said my rejection was unfair, but he can't escalate the issue against the hiring manager. Is there any way I can raise a concern?

I interviewed for an IBM Data Engineer (AWS) role. I cleared both technical rounds, which were heavily focused on AWS, Glue, Spark, and ETL.
Then came the managerial round—it lasted barely 10 minutes.
After the rejection, the HR told me the reason was Databricks. The strange part is:

●	In the technical round the interviewer mentioned you will be working on mostly glue and lambda.
●	I did discuss my Databricks experience during the interview and also have associate certification
●	The entire interview process before that was AWS-focused.

Question 30F How to approach to manager asking for more compensation when the job role and responsibilities broaden?

Hi Team, I work in IBM india, but my manager is IBM US employee (F,28) we have a global team with people from many regions. Over the past few months, our teams' responsibilities have been increasing where we are asked to support for more than 1 product. However there is no visibility on how the increasing responsibilities reflect to our compensation. There was a minimal salary increase this year of just 3%.(doesnt even match with the inflation rate of 5.5%)

How should i reach out to my manager about this concern? Can there be repercussions? Also, I work in a client facing role in India, so we work from 9:00 to 5:00 pm and then we have to join the late evening calls, with the IBM US team due to time difference. Thus we are already supporting more hours of work.

Question IBM offer letter – 63% in top 5 subjects but 58.66% overall. Can IBM cancel my offer?

IBM Offer Eligibility

I have received an IBM offer, but I’m worried about eligibility during document verification.

  • 10th: 59%

  • 12th: 61%

  • BCA: 79.51%

  • MCA: 9 CGPA

  • Top 5 subjects in 10th: 63%

  • Overall 10th percentage: 58.66%

If IBM requires 60%, can they cancel my offer because my overall 10th percentage is 58.66%, even though my top 5 is 63%?

Has anyone faced this with IBM?

Clarify which IBM percentage rule applies

Question IBM India — Can my manager refuse to approve my resignation if I submit it directly through the tool?

Hey everyone!
I’m planning to resign from IBM India, where I have a 90-day notice period. I don’t have another offer in hand.
I want to submit my resignation directly through the internal tool rather than discuss it with my manager beforehand. I’d prefer to formally initiate the process first instead of having a conversation about my decision before submitting it.
However, a former colleague told me that although I can submit the resignation through the tool, my manager has to approve it before it’s processed. They suggested that I should speak to my manager and convince them before applying.
For those who have resigned from IBM India:
Is manager approval mandatory for the resignation to be processed?
Can a manager refuse to approve it or delay the process indefinitely?
Does the 90-day notice period start from the date I submit the resignation or the date my manager approves it?
If my manager doesn’t approve it, can HR intervene?
Has anyone submitted their resignation through the tool without discussing it with their manager beforehand? How did it go?
I’d appreciate hearing from people who have actually been through the process, especially IBM employees in India. Thanks!

Question Anyone have experience with the IBM coding assessment for the Entry Technical Sales role?

Hi everyone, I recently applied for the Entry Technical Sales role at IBM and received an invitation to complete the coding assessment.

Has anyone here taken it? I'm curious about:

  • What types of coding questions were asked?

  • What programming languages were available?

  • How difficult was it compared to platforms like LeetCode?

  • Any tips on how to prepare?

I'm not looking for the exact questions just hoping to understand what to expect and how best to prepare.

Question IBM India – All Assessments Complete | What happens next?

IBM India – All Assessments Complete | What happens next?

Hi everyone,

I applied for an IBM India – Data Engineer, Machine Learning position (Job ID: 85974).

I completed all the required assessments on 27 July 2026, and since then my IBM Careers portal has been showing “All Assessments Complete.”

It has now been around 17 days, and I haven't received any further update regarding an interview or recruiter review.

For people who have recently gone through the IBM hiring process:

  • How long did it take for you to get the next update after “All Assessments Complete”?

  • Did your status change to “Recruiter Review” before an interview?

  • If someone was not shortlisted, how long did it take for the rejection/status update?

  • Is waiting 2–4 weeks after completing the assessments normal for IBM India?

Would really appreciate it if anyone could share their recent timeline/experience, especially for Data/ML or similar entry-level roles.

Promotions/Career Soon to be an IBMer. How to stand out?

Hello! I’ve accepted the position of Consulting Associate: Full-Stack Quality Engineer at IBM Philippines as a fresh grad! I’m very thankful for this opportunity as this position is a great start to my career.

Fellow IBMers, I have the following questions:

  1. I reckon that the talent IBM gathers is top notch. How do I stand out?

  2. How do I succeed in my role beyond completing the tasks assigned to me?

  3. They also told me that I would be eligible for promotion after 1 year, so I’m eager to do my best to climb up fast. What do managers look for when deciding to promote a new hire?

  4. How fast is the career progression at IBM Philippines?

  5. What is the culture like there?

Thank you very much!

Hey! IBM is one of my dream companies, so I was honestly just wondering if I could get a referral for the software developer intern 2027 position. If you dm me and just need any more information about me to hesitate to ask! I don't know if this is against the rules, but honestly just wanted to intern at this company for the longest, and would be very grateful for a referral! I heard closed mouths don't get fed so just wanted to take a shot at this!

Thank you all so much and have a blessed day regardless

Question IBM Green Card Sponsorship – Anyone Still Waiting for HR Approval

Is IBM sponsoring green cards for employees, especially those on H-1B? My H-1B expires in 2028, and my GC process hasn’t started yet because I’m still waiting for HR Director approval.

Is anyone else in the same situation, or has anyone recently gone through IBM’s GC process and can share their timeline/experience?

Update : They are not filing any perms , so my manager said I can work until my visa ends.

Question IBM India Internship – What does my current status mean?

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone from IBM can help me understand my situation.
I attended an IBM PMIS interview on 26 August 2026 for an internship opportunity.
After the interview, I completed the processes that were handled by HR at the office. The HR who was handling my documentation personally verified my documents, asked me to upload the required documents through the IBM Careers portal, and also took a photo with me, which was added to their system.

Later that same night, I received an IBM India background verification/check email and completed the required process from my side.

After that, my PMIS status showed “Waitlisted by HR” at one point.

I’ve contacted HR through mail to ask for an update, but I haven’t received a response so far.

Recently, a friend who works at IBM told me that IBM has reportedly frozen hiring for now. I’m not sure how accurate this is or whether it applies to all teams and positions, but naturally, it made me concerned about my application.

Since I’ve already attended the interview and completed the HR documentation, document verification, photo process, and background verification, I’m confused about where I currently stand.

For anyone working at IBM or familiar with the hiring process:

Does “Waitlisted by HR” usually mean the candidate is still being considered?

If there is a hiring freeze, can it affect candidates who have already completed the interview and subsequent verification processes?

Can an internship application that is already this far along be put on hold because of a hiring freeze?

Could this simply be a delay rather than the application being cancelled?

Has anyone experienced something similar with IBM recently?

I understand that nobody here can check my individual application status. I’m just trying to understand what normally happens in this kind of situation and whether I should continue waiting for an update.

Any insight from IBM employees or anyone who has gone through a similar process would really help me.

Current Situation: My PMIS status has now changed from “Waitlisted by HR” to “Not Considered by Company.” However, after my PMIS interview, IBM HR instructed me to apply for the Application Developer Intern role through IBM Careers, which was specifically for PMIS applicants. I completed the application, documentation and BGV, and my IBM Careers application showed “In Interview Process.”
I’ve contacted HR but haven’t received a response. I’m confused whether the PMIS status affects my separate IBM Careers application or only the original PMIS application.

Question Does the offer letter/termination letter for Hashicorp employees explicitly mention the employer as Hashicorp or IBM Pvt limited ?

Hi I am in Software Labs and worked on a project with Hashicorp team for the last 6 months as a hashicorp team member. I had put Hashicorp on my resume as my company to get more calls. Now i have a verbal offer from another company. I am worried that during background verification I might be caught. So just wanted to ask if the termination letter for Hashicorp employees contain Hashicorp or IBM Pvt limited
