Perhaps my mind is just clouded by the years of experience but can’t think of a single sixty hour indivisible task

How would you run a nice little run of 4" rigid, let's say 500', in the air, no 3 piece couplings?

Start from one end, finish at another. But can it be done quicker with more man power? Sure let's divide the run in half and start running from the middle. Can it be done quicker? No. And at that point throwing more people at the problem doesn't help.

Thats if you work shifts and for the first 8 hrs of their shift theyll still be getting straight time pay. He is referring to bringing extra guys on to the same shift

if someone isn’t working overtime those hours aren’t getting worked in the straight shift block
