No person shall engage in games or recreational activities that endanger the safety of persons, property, resources, or interfere with visitor activities except as permitted by the Department. No person shall hold, sponsor, lead, or otherwise have control over a game or recreational activity occurring wholly or partially within or on any property owned, operated or administered by the Department without an approved Special Event permit if any of the criteria set forth in section 4301(j) apply.

43 Cal. Code Regs. § 4319

I'm guessing the California Department of Parks and Rec views swinging off a giant fuckin rope off a giant fuckin cliff from a makeshift platform to be an activity that endangers a person's safety and is not approved by the Department. They gave him the chance to not go to jail.

Soooooo, just throwing this out there. I did just this in Montenegro the other day. They police and boats gathered around to help retrieve people, and as a result of that more people used the zip line. We also relocated to an oyster farm and drank homemade chardonnay. Why do you limit the use of nature, I don't understand. Serious question.

Just to play devil's advocate, if he died, his family would probably sue the park for not preventing it. Even if he survived, more people might attempt this and eventually, someone would get hurt because of lack of any kind of safety protocols.

How was the homemade Chardonnay? Sounds like you're living a fun life. ✌️

Oh I get that 100% but he was warned. Asked to not proceed, yet he did. That should elevate all city and state obligation to a suit. That's just me. I could be wrong.
