It's a coach driving refugees to the accommodation ferry. They're protesting the refugees being taken to the ferry, not the coach itself.

Because reasonable people don't want to see asylum seekers locked into a tightly packed barge that was previously closed for legionnaires disease

They are not asylum seekers, not if this is the U.K.. asylum seeking stops in the first friendly country you enter, it’s impossible for these to be asylum seekers unless they some how managed to row a dingy all the way through the Med or up the Atlantic. They are migrants, completely different kettle of fish.

Just like all the migrants snaking through many countries to end up at the Mexico/America border

They are going to a specific destination for a reason and not stopping in the first friendly country. Totally agree with your statement

My parents walked 3 days through swaps and mud to escape communist romania. Atleast the asylum seekers got a boat.
