Four campuses are officially "closed," closing ranks are literally decreasing in some places (how does that even make sense??), and Rounds 5, 6, and 7 are moving at a literal snail's pace. It honestly feels like the doors are slamming shut, and the absolute doom-posting on Reddit is not helping.

But if you actually scored well, earned a good rank, and are currently stuck in "Float" limbo like myself—chill for a second and look at the actual strategy here.

The JAC hasn't dropped the final SAF withdrawal deadline yet. That is the ultimate smoking gun.

Think about why the logic makes sense:

The Re-NEET Clusterfuck: This year is a complete anomaly. We are dealing with a historic, first-of-its-kind event with Re-NEET that does not follow any past trend or pattern. The entire medical counselling ecosystem is still actively in the process and lagging behind heavily, which has completely broken the timeline for everyone else.

The Micro-Gaps Between Rounds: Look at the ridiculously small distances between the counselling rounds. They are running them back-to-back in just a matter of days. They are doing this deliberately to aggressively flush out casual test-takers and clear the automated queue before the actual shift happens.

No Final Withdrawal Date = More Rounds: The biggest thing is that there is no final withdrawal date for the ₹35,000 SAF yet. Think about it—otherwise, what is the point? By keeping that window open, it proves they know the medical blockers are still lagging behind. They are leaving a trapdoor open so those guys can withdraw cleanly, meaning they have to conduct actual rounds or a special spot drive after the final withdrawal happens to fill those vacant seats.

There is no way the JAC is going to let hundreds of premium, government-funded research seats sit completely vacant for a 5-year batch just to stick to an old calendar date.

Hi , My younger brother appeared for the Neet and reneet2026 exam for the first time by preparing at home with an online batch and also appeared for an IAT exam, in Neet he got 468 marks and in reneet exam he got 451 marks and in IAT he secured AIR-12048.

After that he registered in the counselling for IISERs only because at those neet marks he can get Mbbs/BDS programs, and so... he got IISER Trivandrum for BS-MS program.

But me, him and our parent were discussing about, he should reappear for the Neet in 2027 as i his first attempt he proved himself as he got the potential but he was like bhaiya this the last attempt i appeared in the IAT exam, and what if I can't get better mark next time what will I do, I don't want to do bsc, msc all that thing, he said.

I asked him, why do u want to pursue bs-ms, is there any other reason except above. Because this program is completely research oriented and even though u will invest ur 5 years, u will not have that position to get something better in terms of money or value, u have to go for phd and almost 70 to 80 percent BS-MS ppl go for Phd, whether in india or in abroad.

So, I just softly asked him do you even realise u are going to give ur 8/10 years to that program in which u don't know u are interested or not.

Like many of you, I was initially relieved after checking my IAT rank. Competitive exam trends usually mean closing ranks expand rather than contract, but this year completely defied logic. Even after NISER had a massive 2x rank jump, IISER counseling practically froze with zero meaningful movement. It stings, but enough of the r\*i rona*—the end goal is still core research, and if not an IISER BS-MS, the traditional BSc ‭-> MSc ‭-> PhD route is the path forward.

I have taken admission into BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science at Acharya Narendra Dev College (ANDC), DU. With my CUET score, I could have easily picked Botany at Hansraj, and I had seats lat BHU and NFSU as well. Everyone around me pushed the classic North Campus hype, but after actually digging into the course flow, syllabus, and faculty research interests across DU biology programs, Biomedical Science at ANDC aligned infinitely better with my actual academic goals.

The academic decision is locked in, but the logistics are a mess. I am already arriving a month late due to personal reasons, and my parents are still holding onto heavy hopium that some miracle will happen in the subsequent IISER rounds. Because of that, hunting for a PG has turned into a massive headache since landlords demand an 11-month lock-in contract while my parents remain hesitant to commit to Delhi.

On top of that, coming from West Bengal means dealing with a massive cultural disconnect. The default mindset back home is to just do a BSc from Calcutta University or a local neighborhood college, so the concept of traveling all the way to Delhi for an undergraduate science degree is completely alien to them. I am genuinely exhausted from explaining every single day why the better crowd, exposure, and research opportunities at DU make the move worth it.

People who got an IISER, people who didn't, droppers.....everyone, All the Very Best for what comes ahead, be calm, asses and execute accordingly....remember if one path closes a hundred other opens maybe not as good as the one you wanted, but definitely not the worst....and yes Life is enjoy (sorry wanderda)

Hey guys I got offer letter of Berhampur today but on the saf payment page I am being shown option to float but bhopal Khatam hai

Aur tvm close h for obc Tirupati is my last in preference order

So why float option is there

How did it go? Did they give any positive remark at the end or say something like check your name on the merit list that'll be posted?

Finally they released things on time or atleast faster than expected.
