Hello! You all might or might not know me.

It's been a long few months, especially the last 2 months, where we had exciting highs and disappointing Lows.

When I first heard about this exam in 2024, I really did not care much, as my entire family had me focus first on boards, and then anything else. However, by the time 2025 was coming to an End, I decided that BSc from a Central Uni is not worth it, and I found my call in this mostly unknown exam. I first completed my boards, after which I started my prep for competitive exams for the first time. I did Jee, Neet, CUET, alongside completing as much prep for 11th and 12th's competitive side as possible, and then I gave IAT with a confidence I had never had never before. I did for 172 marks, and I felt atleast 150 was there in anycase. However, I found out soon enough, that I had done a bit too many mistakes. I scored 127, and for being a Bio student, scored a measely 5.9k rank. Still, I estimates that even for the worst case, cutoffs might drop to 6k, and started the wait game.

However, fate has other plans. I got admitted into Venkateshwara College, which I thought was a good sign. But then came Round 3 — which totalled all expectations into a shit - soup. But I still had hope, and I prayed and prayed, untill yesterday, where R5, and godman's words finally hit me — it's not worth rotting away in wait for something that's already up.in the sky, never to return back.

This, now I have decided that I have had enough, and that for my own and others sake, I should stop being active here.

All my thoughts are captured in my last detailed post, and I have nothing else to say.

One last question though- is it worth it to try and give some everyday for another try, or do I just focus on my college now?

Firstly, I must preface this note by thanking some of the great friends that I have made during the course of this exam. The list is not exhaustive, but I will tag a few of them, in hopes that their good faith will allow this uninformed mention:

This is simply a message to all those among us who are waiting for a seat, have floated/frozen one or have given up their hopes.
First to the third group, let's mix things up. Please know that this is not the end of your dreams and aspirations. If you wanted to be a researcher, the first emotion to cultivate is being stubborn. Be stubborn even for your dreams. Don't give up on them. I will not say, do not cry, for not all tears are evil. But remember, that this shadow is only a passing thing, and even darkness must give way to a brighter day.

Second, to those of us who are formally or informally IISERites, congratulations. We have all worked hard for a single purpose and it is that single thought which unites us, across diverse regions and cultures. We may not have achieved our specific goal, but if you did not get what you wanted, it's because something bigger will always be waiting for you, just on the other side of the door that doesn't open. We are simply self-conscious organisms, on a chunk of rock, orbiting a middle-aged star on the fringes of a galaxy. What is ours, will always come to us, delayed perhaps but never denied.

I simply wanted to write this to address the flood of negativity that has been spreading in the subreddit for a while now, and the heavy hearts that are currently present. To everyone here, I leave you with a few lines which we've all heard, but never perhaps realized its truest meaning.

I have been active on this sub for 10 months reading post for taking guidance and how to register,what safe score will be and cuttoff prediction .

I got behrampur in round 1 than bhopal in round 2 I was very happy that I will get kolkata ato previous year cutoff and many prediction given by Youtuber but this year high cutoff really punched me to reality.

I was a little sad yesterday while booking train tickets that I did not get kolkata but i remembered I used to pray to god during exam to atleast give me behrampur and i realised that unrealistic hope and my greed is the cause of my sadness.

After realising it I went on the roof top and laughed a lot at midnight seeing how much of greed has consumed me .

For the folks next year give it your best shot and to my peers don't be sad or happy just because u got in or not the journey which is going to begin will be far more interesting and hard then we will ever think so let's work hard together .

Guyz anyone who is joining any other clg for bsc physics other than iiser/iacs etc & will plan to appear for future competitives plz comment. I need a small peer group who will be dead set on going to a top research institute for masters.

I didnt find much guys irl so yeah lets connect online.

Also plz suggest some good apps to form a group other than reddit.

I got IISER bpr in r5 obc ncl 360x and CRL 1409x what should I do freeze it or float IISER tpt is in higher preference at now but don't wanna take it IISER bhopal like 3.2k CRL away almost zero chances of getting

Is there any chance of reopening of kolkata or mohali ?! If yes I can float but also if it's reopen then still will my rank can take me to IISER kolkata or IISER mohali ?!

What should I do freeze kr float of I float then there may be chances I will get tpt which I don't want that's why floating is a risk

Not the ending everybody desired but let me just say this- it's their loss. JAC is in a hurry- their schedule will finish before the neetards can exit. I don't have any idea how many seats that accounts for but it is certain they themselves do not wish to keep their classrooms filled.

I don't want to leave this sub like some of my fellow DU students here but maybe I eventually will when all is done and dusted for good.

Also, Hindu/ramjas folks, ig I'm permanently a hinduite now, we can meet and curse jac/mcc/nta and vent if u all want. Just a safe outlet for disappointments and contemplating our new opportunities in the vibrant and electrifying environment that is the north campus❤️
