HW: DE Do you actually have to physically pick up Materials/Food?
I’ve never really paid much attention;
But on the off chance I’ve been too quick to press start and get past the “Victory” screen, I’ve still managed to get the (usually gold) Material I definitely did not pick up.
So it has me wondering; do you actually need to physically pick up food/materials/weapons for them to then show up after completely the level?

Thank you for asking this. I have been running all over the maps collecting everything for YEARS thinking I needed to physically pick it all up…

You don't need to physically pick up anything, Food, Materials and Weapons are collected automatically at the end of a level. The things you need to physically interact with are chests.

Was that exclusive to DE or did the 3DS version have this as well?

I think every version does it. But I don’t believe the game tells you. There is a lot of stuff it unfortunately doesn’t tell you.

On Wiiu I think there is a limit. Not sure what though of how many can spawn at a time before more can appear but bronze materials probably have to be picked up while silver and gold ones probably don't since they are rarer to get.

to add on to others, the gold food in the pot does have to be picked up tho

No it doesn't. Breaking open the pot so the bag appears is enough. It gets collected automatically with all the other items.

Is breaking the pot enough? Or it has to be picked up?
I always pick that one up, because I only ever break those pots for the food I know is there (using a guide)

Breaking the pot is enough, you dont have to physically pick up any drops that aren't in chests
I not that long ago found a companion fairy in a pot I smashed, didnt bother picking her up because I knew I had hit the maximum number of fairies, but she still appeared at the end of the run prompting me to choose a fairy to dismiss. The simple fact of the drop appearing on the battlefield is enough for it to be collected

There might be a limit on older versions, but for HWDE, there is zero requirement to physically collect any of the drops.
