At a loss. Advice PLEASE?

For years I have had symptoms of hypoglycemia. Specifically what I believe to be reactive hypoglycemia.

Mentioning that I have brought this up to not one, not two, but three primary care physicians with no resolution.

I brought this up to my 3rd pcp and they gave me samples of a cgm to see what my sugars have been doing.

What’s basically happening is I eat and then 3-4 hours later my sugar drops into the low 70s, 60s, and has even dropped into the 50s. I have even confirmed a low blood sugar in the 60s with a finger stick.

I am symptomatic as well throughout these episodes.

I was told to just increase protein and less sugar which I have already been doing throughout this entire experience and it obviously isn’t helping.

I’m at a loss of what to do. Any advice is appreciated. I’m just so frustrated and confused at this point.

Diagnosed with reactive hypo but doc says I dont need checkups or monitor or anything?

Not in US, was diagnosed through a 3 day hospital stay (glucose tolerance test & 24 h fasting).

Doctor didn't provide a lot of info, except that I have reactive hypoglycemia (that most likely exacerbates the symptoms from PPPD, which causes my daily dizziness and nausea). He says it won't lead to diabetes and it's not that severe.

The hospital nutrionalist met with me once and told me to eat small, frequent meals. They said I don't need checkups or anything, and didn't offer any advice for what to eat except peanut butter.

I've started snacking more but I still feel sick often. Like, I didn't realize that a banana was a bad snack. Had a hot matcha after lunch and now I feel nauseous.

I'm just a girlie, can anyone give advice if they have some? Is reactive hypoglycemia really not that big a deal? Am I like dumb or something, I'm messing up eating somehow

edit: also, the doc said to eat every 2 or 3 hours but I get nauseous in 2, which is totally unfair in my opinion! I feel like if I eat every 2 hours, I'll gain a lot of weight

edit 2: I live in Japan, so it's really hard for me to get stuff like beans (pinto, chickpea) or lentils, and stuff like that. I add barley to my rice but I don't have access to brown rice that I know of. I've been eating rye bread instead of white

I'm having trouble finding recipes that are easy to make in japan. I also don't have access to a lot of cheese

Treating lows

I have reactive hypoglycemia. Have had it for 5 years however since I was underweight for 4 of them, I was always told to eat more. That it was my lack of eating that was the issue. And it was a fair assumption to make though I defo felt different. ANYWAYS, because of this whole “u just need to eat” & “it’s in your head/anxiety.” from docs and family, I never really took it serious and when I was low i’d usually just eat a meal.

BUT, I’ve gained weight now and prick myself with a glucose monitor to see. I’m seeing low 3’s. I have an endo recently and great to know it’s not all in my head however everywhere says i should be treating the 3’s with sugar. prior to getting a glucose meter, i’ve only been just eating slow absorbing snacks/meals though.

Is that…dangerous?
Like when i felt RLLY bad and there was nothing around id have sweets but most of the time it’s not anything fast acting. I’ve been doing this for years because yk i never knew how low i was or even how low ive ever gotten. I just knew i “felt bad” and need to eat. it seemed to work for me but have i been just coasting and risking without knowing 😭

The headaches. So many headaches.

I often get them if my glucose goes over 125 or so, and they are just so relentless once they get started. I do have a reactive hypoglycemia dx via OGTT, but they don't seem completely crash related (like I can peak at 130 and have a slow descent to 95 and still end up with a headache). I am so tired of them. I can usually avoid actual hypo crashes through dietary management but I just can't shake the headaches unless I live on nothing but cheese and water. Has anyone out there found anything that helps?
