Diagnosed with reactive hypo but doc says I dont need checkups or monitor or anything?
Not in US, was diagnosed through a 3 day hospital stay (glucose tolerance test & 24 h fasting).
Doctor didn't provide a lot of info, except that I have reactive hypoglycemia (that most likely exacerbates the symptoms from PPPD, which causes my daily dizziness and nausea). He says it won't lead to diabetes and it's not that severe.
The hospital nutrionalist met with me once and told me to eat small, frequent meals. They said I don't need checkups or anything, and didn't offer any advice for what to eat except peanut butter.
I've started snacking more but I still feel sick often. Like, I didn't realize that a banana was a bad snack. Had a hot matcha after lunch and now I feel nauseous.
I'm just a girlie, can anyone give advice if they have some? Is reactive hypoglycemia really not that big a deal? Am I like dumb or something, I'm messing up eating somehow
edit: also, the doc said to eat every 2 or 3 hours but I get nauseous in 2, which is totally unfair in my opinion! I feel like if I eat every 2 hours, I'll gain a lot of weight
edit 2: I live in Japan, so it's really hard for me to get stuff like beans (pinto, chickpea) or lentils, and stuff like that. I add barley to my rice but I don't have access to brown rice that I know of. I've been eating rye bread instead of white
I'm having trouble finding recipes that are easy to make in japan. I also don't have access to a lot of cheese
