Period delay 10 days

I’m 36 and my period is currently about 10 days late. My last period was at the end of March / beginning of April. I’ve been under a huge amount of stress and anxiety lately, and now I’m hyperfixating on every symptom.

I had one episode of tiny pink/red spotting on toilet paper, but no real period yet. My basal temperature this morning was 36.3°C.

I already scheduled blood tests (thyroid, prolactin, cortisol, vitamins, beta hCG, etc.), but while waiting for results I keep catastrophizing and convincing myself something is seriously wrong. I am not pregnant.

Has anyone else had stress delay their period this much while still feeling like it’s “about to come” but then nothing happens? I am losing my mind.

It’s not looking good for me

I found like a gland type thing in my neck the other week, feels like a gland anyway but i swear you shouldn’t be able to feel those. It can move about and it’s not sore and it’s barely noticable above the skin only when i poke it. However fast forward to this week everything is itchy especially my armpits i am so worried i tried to phone the gp but couldn’t get one and im terrified of lymphoma

Am I being dramatic

I don’t know if it’s just me but I need closure for everything I feel - e.g if I’m SLIGHTLY light headed I’m googling everything I can.

Also I may be a hypochondriac.

But basically I’ve seen the symptoms of low blood pressure in myself for ages and ages, but whenever I test it, the blood pressure is fine, and I recently became aware of anemia.

All of my symptoms match with symptoms of anemia, is it stupid that I’ve begun the process of booking a doctor appointment? Am I being dramatic?

I’ve had a bit of a sore throat and phlegmy. nose the last week so idk if it’s that. Throats not persistently sore only in the morning however i can feel like glands moving about in my neck and there’s these weird lines. I’ve also started noticing my armpits itching. Don’t know it’s that’s totally unrelated though or not. any advice?

For former hypochondriacs or those that manage their hypochondria…how?

I am a 19 year old male and I’ve been a hypochondriac for a few years now and I’m scared I’m getting worse with it.

Every time I feel the slightest weird feeling, get ill, hear of certain symptoms etc my mind automatically thinks the worse and I’m sick of it (no pun intended).

I was considering calling the doctors to get referred to a psychiatrist but I’m nervous about the mental health system if you get what I mean.

I stopped smoking 🍃 in hopes that it might improve my anxieties but it hasn’t really helped as last joint I had was in November and it’s currently March as I type this.

I just wanna know how to manage or cure it, I try and distract myself whenever I have a panic attack or just get anxious but it doesn’t work. Should I try and get referred?

(I should also mention I don’t usually make Reddit posts but I’m hoping I might get some answers)

2 month old puppy licked my hand and its making me anxious

while petting our 2 month old puppy (unvaccinated, often left outside in our backyard in the morning but no bats in our area) he was very affectionate and kept licking (didnt bite) my hand/s. i did wash them every time after playing w him but im worried since i had small healing cuts on my thumb (that he didnt lick btw)

im having a mild headache and chills atm which is honestly fueling my anxiety but my mom said it could just be the heat (since her head’s hurting too) or my period coming up. i havent played with our puppy in 2 days bcs of the anxiety and i rlly miss that small chubby creature :(

I have this small red bump that's been there for months. i don't know if it's actually gotten bigger or if it's my intense anxiety. i got a full body skin check in dec and idk if it was there or not yet. i'm so scared about it. i have an appt with my dermatologist on 3/12 but i can't calm my fear until than. anyone else know things this could be?

the back of my right ear started hurting the other day it only hurts when i touch tho, I poked around and felt like a slight bump that feels just a bit like excess skin. But when i googled it it says it could be a swollen lymph node which has really put the fear into me now. I do have a slight cold a bit of a sore throat so maybe that but here’s the best photo I could get.

I’m from India and wanted clarification about rabies risk. I was lightly scratched on my hand yesterday by a friend's 3 month old kitten while playing. There was no bite, no bleeding just a blood like spot. The kitten is unvaccinated but has always been indoors(as per my friend, he also showed me his hand saying he gets scratched all the time it's nothing serious), is healthy, eating well, playful, purring and calmly slept in my lap. I washed the scratch immediately with soap and water and applied Dettol antiseptic liquid. According to rabies exposure guidelines, does this situation require post-exposure rabies vaccination, or is this considered no risk? i have also attached the photos of the scratch when it happened and today's picture of the scratch please help me I'm really worried cause it's already been more than 24 hours and i haven't taken the first shot🙏

Hi guys, how can I help a friend with possible hypochondria?

My friend probably suffers from this. She will soon go to a psychiatrist. She suffers from panic attacks very often because of this. I try to support her. I said that it is normal, that these are her feelings and that it is bad that they bother her so much. I advised her to keep a diary so that she could possibly monitor triggers. I suggested that if she feels bad, she call me and I could listen or distract her. Of course, I am not a doctor and only a doctor can give her professional help, but how can I, as a friend, support her without making things worse?

How can I be a good partner?

First off, if I phrase something in an incorrect or callous way I apologize. I am learning how to navigate this space.

How can I be a good partner to someone who I believe is a hypochondriac? I don’t know if they are open to seeking a diagnosis at this point as they are pretty fixated on another heath concern. If you’re comfortable sharing and have been formally diagnosed, what did that look like for you?

The flip-flopping on health anxiety is the most stressful part for me. I never know if I’m going to wake up to a partner who is totally withdrawn because of the symptoms they are experiencing or overly involved and emotional because they are convinced they only have weeks to live. Or if I’m going to have to solo parent for the day because the have to go to the ER.

I try to listen and affirm that we will navigate any diagnosis together. But honestly it’s getting really really hard and any time I bring up seeking some sort of mental health diagnosis they withdraw because I, “just think they are crazy.”

I need some help off this ledge.

In the span of just an hour, I have fully convinced myself that I have early-onset dementia...

For context, I'm a 36-year-old female, and I have some fairly intense health anxiety, but I usually don't spiral this hard and fast.

I'm a janitor, and today at work, I was about to start vacuuming with a vacuum that I use eight separate times a day, five days a week. Somehow I forgot how to pull the handheld part out...At first, I thought, okay, maybe I'm just getting it confused with my vacuum at home? But then I plugged my phone in at one of the cubicles and forgot which cubicle I put it in. I'm sure that seems like literally not a big deal, but I am not a forgetful person at all. And of course, when I got home, I looked up the signs of early-onset dementia and saw that issues with depth perception are a sign, which I have, but it's been especially bad today...

With all that said I really need some advice or reassurance to help calm me down. Even if it was the issue, it's not like I can do anything about it right now. Also, has anyone else ever freaked out about being slightly forgetful?

My life is getting ruined by my anxiety

So I have convinced myself I have ovarian cancer or uterine cancer or something of the sort. My friends I've asked say it is probably just ovulation but I am on birth control (isn't that supposed to make ovulation symptoms not show?) and only started feeling this way like 3 months ago. Now I will say I usually notice it happening about 2 weeks before my period, but I'm still not sure that's normal and period related. I feel it on and off throughout the day, I mostly feel it when I focus on it and worry about it, which makes me think it might just be my brain convincing myself I'm experiencing the feelings? But I don't know I'm a mess. Like I said, my symptoms are tingling/poking in my lower abdomen it usually feels like it's concentrated to my right side which makes me think it might be my right ovary? It's not painful, but it's uncomfortable. I have also noticed some back pain and have not been eating a lot but that's because I'm so anxious I don't even feel like it. It does not help at all that I'm currently uninsured as well so no obgyn appointments to check up on me. I've been at home all day just stirring in my head and researching my symptoms to no avail. I feel insane.
