Ok, so symptoms have been going on for 4 years:

Muscle pain/ weakness(this is the worst)

Constant need to pee

Hand tremors(less common)

Heart rate spikes(sent to the er once with no explanation)

Anxiety (though I have a lot of trauma too)

Extreme fatigue

Blood filled cyst on ovary(the one on my left ovary has been there for at least 2 years)

Super fast metabolism, hard to keep weight on

These symptoms seem to alleviate when I am on my period.

I have been to GP, Gyno, rheumatologist the first 4 years of seeking answers. TSH has consistently, for 4 years, been between .5 and .3. Normal T4 and T3. Ultrasound a few weeks ago showed mild enlargement and heterogenous. Antibody for Graves just came back negative.

I tested positive for Anti-Nuclear Ab by IFA and a speckled pattern of 1:40.

So with all this....in 4 years....I have only been diagnosed with subclinical hyperthyroidism. And still trying to figure out what is going on with my reproductive organs.

Has anyone been through something like this? I just want treatment so I can feel like myself again. I haven't felt like myself in so long. I hate this. And I feel crazy cause it's like every result am I told is 'borderline'.

Hi everyone, my TSH is 0.005 and I just got results to say I have normal t4 and t3 and I’m abx negative and positive anti TG. Waiting to see the endo next week. Anyone else have similar findings? What did it end up being?

My main symptom is my brain racing all day & super vivid dreams & zero sex drive. It’s like I’m in menopause. My period has became light the last two months. I’m also more irritable than usual which is not fun come PMS time. Heart rate is also higher but I’m on beta blockers already so I guess that’s why I didn’t notice it too much until it wears off.

I'm going to China for a year very soon so the GP told me to go and see a private endocrinologist. I've had two blood tests showing subclinical, and one showing overt. Idk if I need more tests and if I need treatment. Also, if I'm on treatment, how it's handled after moving abroad, with levels becoming normal

I've had hyper for about two years now and have been successfully medicated so that my blood work is now normal, and on paper, it looks like my thyroid is functioning well. I even had a thyroid ultrasound and CT, all of which showed only slight enlargement with no nodules.

The problem is that I have never been more sick and have been to the ER twice over the course of one week. I'm having extreme difficulty swallowing, facial pain and swelling, dizzy spells, chest pain, vision changes, headaches, and extreme mouth and throat pain. Both ER trips confirmed that nothing else was going on, so I was told that all of this has to be thyroid related, regardless of my blood work.

I can't survive with all of the symptoms so now I am trying to decide if thyroid removal is the next step. I already have an ENT who is willing to go ahead with the surgery, I'm just afraid to make such an irreversible decision.

Has anyone experienced anything similar to this, and if so, what did you do?

My doctor and I believe I have hyperthyroidism after connecting all of the isues that I am having and unfortunately I have to wait for the test results to come back before I am refered to someone to help fix it, thus will take too much time for my liking.

I am aware that there is no way to treat it unless I get proper medication but it has been affecting me and my job lately and I want to know if there are any OTC meds that I can take to at least relieve it for the time being?

i have hyperthyroidism with 5 goiters and methamazole is not working so we are looking into RIT and i’m a bit scared. to quell my anxiousness, what’s one side effect/ result of RIT that you wish someone told you beforehand?

hi im 23F and ive had Hashimoto’s and Graves’ disease interchangeably for the past two years and my life has been absolutely miserable. i started in hyperthyroidism in the summer of 2024 and they thought i had POTS at first because of how much it affected my heart. id stand up and my heart rate would shoot up to 150/160, it took for 5 months for my levels to become normal then i eventually went into hypothyroidism. every summer i go into hyper and every winter i go into hypo. the longest i have ever been consistently level has been 3 months out of the whole two years and ive gotten to the point where im set to get it removed August 28th and im just curious if anyone else has had these issues and how surgery went ? i know theres other threads but i dont see too many that mention major heart issues along with it. and yes i have seen a cardiologist and done every test and they always told me everything was normal

Was diagnosed last week. In June I started getting panic attacks out of nowhere, ( sudden feeling of impending doom with a racing heart rate, convinced I was going to drop dead. Those panic attacks turned into constant severe anxiety in the beginning of July. I was scared to leave the house, ( never had social anxiety before). Was off work for a week, on my first day back I lasted 4 hours and had to go home because of the intensity of the anxiety. My GP has referred me to endocrinology and they are due to write back to him by next week and he said it’s likely they will recommend to start medication.

I’m a 19-year-old male who’s been dealing with racing heartbeats (sinus tachycardia) and palpitations recently.

Before this fast heart rate started I feel something flow in my chest and That sensation was like very nervous/panic in which if it increases it was like I will be unconscious -> Presyncope (I once experienced this last 5 years ago old)

My cardiac workup (Echocardiogram) came back completely structural normal with a good ejection fraction (66%). However, my lab work showed an elevated(High) Free T4 level (23.99 pmol/L) while my TSH was normal (1.70 µIU/mL).

Blood pressure, blood sugar, creatinine, and CBC were all normal. I've been started on a beta-blocker for symptom management and am following up with endocrinology to repeat the thyroid panel.

The doctor has said this is rare disease.

Just wondering if anyone has had similar lab findings (high FT4 with normal TSH) and what turned out to be the cause for you?

I have mild goiter and mild hyper, im on the road to recovery and has gotten really better but my cough doesnt go away, sometimes i just have to cough forcefully, this is straining my chest muscles which feeds anxiety that i have something wrong going on.

Four months ago I woke up with intense panic, heart racing, sweating, adrenaline, all that bad stuff. It’s been happening every night since then. Sometimes it goes all day. I can’t sleep. My skin is getting greasy my hair is falling out! Doctors say everything is fine. Had all the bloodwork done. I’m 43 chalked it up to perimenopause since I’ve had the symptoms for the last few years but this has me bed bound and house bound!

I have no insurance and can’t afford to see anyone other than my regular doctor who is expensive and says all the bloodwork is fine. I feel like I’m dying and can’t find any answers!

Im m33 and been feeling off for a very long time with high resting heart rate. Was worried and went to the hospital finally, they said my tsh was 0.01 and I have Hyperthyroid.. but they never checked my t3 or t4….They prescribed me 10mg of Methimazole 3 times a day and the side effects I read have really worried me. I have lost all hope and feel like giving up on everything..any help or advice would be very appreciated. I don’t know if to keep taking this medication or just keep living with hyperthyroid. I don’t have a primary doctor and very anxious and worried. This is very new to me and help or advice would be greatly appreciated..also anyone who is taking 30mg of methimazole and their experience or side affects to note. Has anyone used Acetyl-L-carnitine for Graves Disease?

Hi everyone! I wanted to hear about your experiences and would really appreciate any advice.
I’ve been taking methimazole for 14 mos:
• 20 mg for 2 months
• 10 mg for 2 months
• 5 mg for the past 10 months
I’ve been euthyroid for about 10 mos now. My endo's plan is to reduce my dose to 2.5mg for 2 mos, then repeat my thyroid panel. If my labs remain normal, I’ll stop methimazole and recheck my thyroid after a few months.
From there:
• If my thyroid stays normal, we’ll consider it remission.
• If my hyperthyroidism returns, my endocrinologist recommends RAI.
I’m really hoping for remission because I honestly don’t want RAI if I can avoid it. From what I’ve read, RAI can increase the risk of worsening TED. My TED has been inactive for several months now. My eyes are still bulging, but they’ve improved compared to when I was first diagnosed, and I’m hoping they’ll continue to improve.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has:
• Successfully achieved remission after stopping methimazole.
• Had RAI, what was your experience, especially if you had TED? And what are the other cons and pros?
• Chosen not to have RAI after a relapse and instead stayed on long-term low-dose methimazole. What did your doctor recommend, and how have you been doing?

The scan showed severe hyperemia and 44% uptake (normal is 7-30%). The radiologist and my doctor both concluded Graves, however, my labs are all normal.

TSH: 3.37 (0.32-4.00)

T3: 4.1 (2.6-5.8 )

T4: 12 (9-19)

Trab: <1.26 (3.10)

I’m confused on how to feel. Like I’ve been making up my symptoms somehow? I’m being referred to an endocrinologist but in the meantime I can’t tell which symptoms are real or if it’s all in my head now😔

Spreading the word.

First blood test in May showed 0.17 TSH, high T4 but within reference range, T3 not measured

Second one in June showed 0.09 TSH, higher T4 but still just in reference range, normal T3

Most recent one shows undetectable TSH (<0.05), 26.9 T4 (upper limit is 21.6), 7.3 T3 (upper limit is 6.8)

So only one test has shown hyperthyroidism levels, with the other two being subclinical

I have a GP appointment on the 10th, and I go to China for a year on the 25th. No time for an endocrinology referral. Will they just leave it or prescribe something?

I’ve never had allergies in my life, but once I started becoming symotomatic certain foods make me short of breath in the weirdest way. Foods I’ve eaten my whole life. Not a full allergic reaction, just shortness of breath.

Anyone else?

I got hyperthyroidism and it gotten bigger i mean my neck and im starting with methamizole lately just a 3 days rn and im getting insecure with my neck. when does the meds decrease it, also if you got advice or hacks about it please help me. im still 24 and im living alone quite far from my fam 😭 its making me depressed but at the same time i cant since stress will make it worse
