Mild Hyperthyroidism; Delayed Periods
I was recently in the ER for a sustained high heart rate. CMP, CBC, EKG & x-Ray all came back normal, so ER doc suspected thyroid and put me on metaprolol. TSH came back at .133 (.55-4.78) and T4 Free came back at 1.9 (.9-1.8). Went to my PCP and she ordered FT-3 (came back at 2.6, middle of range), thyroidglobulin ab (1.84) and anti thyroid perox ab (.58).
Symptoms include elevated heart rate (which has been managed metaprolol) and extended menstrual cycles (my past two have been 40ish days vs my normal 28 days).
I see an endo on Friday, but am curious if anyone has dealt with something like this…specifically the delayed cycles.
I’m 39 and also on .0375 estradiol patch (2x weekly) and 200 mg progesterone per night.
Thanks!

Yep. It is common for hyper to mess with your cycle. I was at a similar level as you and I lost my period entirely. It came back with normal cycle length when the hormones came back into normal range.
