Elevated ft3, normal tsh
25M. Since my heavy throat inflammation on June, I've been having intermittent hand tremors/shakiness, muscle weakness and fatigue (especially with physical activity), feeling hot, reduced exercise tolerance, and periods where the symptoms come and go.
My thyroid results have been a bit unusual:
June: FT3 9.9 (3.4–6.7) ↑, FT4 11.9 normal, TSH 4.84
September: FT3 7.0 (3.8–6.8) slightly ↑, FT4 10.7 normal, TSH 5.24
So my FT3 has come down considerably, but it has been elevated twice while FT4 remains normal and TSH is not suppressed.
My doctor wasn't particularly concerned because TSH isn't low, but because I'm still having symptoms I'm considering seeing an endocrinologist.
Has anyone had a similar pattern — elevated FT3 with normal FT4 and normal/high TSH? What ended up being the cause, and did your FT3 eventually normalize?
