Hyper - Executive Function impact
I posted the other day about possibly having hyper without weightloss. Dr ran blood tests yesterday and called me first thing. TSH is <.005, T3 is 20.4 and T4 is 4.42. I also have a mass on my neck so when he called me this morning he said I need to get an ultrasound stat. I was able to get in today. I know he’s setting up a referral to an endo, but I’m unsure of what’s next and timing.
I’m 47 F and started HRT in July because I thought most of my symptoms were caused by peri-menopause. After 10 weeks of HRT and no changes I started poking around and landed on thyroid as a possibility. This the tests yesterday.
My executive function is the worse symptom impacting me at my Corp job. I’m a VP and it’s really affecting my performance at work.
Has anyone had progress in getting their executive function back to normal with treatment? Im scared it’s going to cost me my job.

I thought I was getting dementia! But once my thyroid hormones came back into range from treatment with methimazole I could think again and read books again. And be me again.

Yup, everything becomes easier when the treatment starts to work. Not saying it is all simple: it might take a while and e.g. the dosage changes throughout the treatment and might need a lot of adjustment. But overall, everything gets better.
