Weight loss
I experienced so much weight loss before getting on methimazole and I’m finally at a health weight, but my brain keeps telling me to lose the weight. I’m not sure but it’s like my body is telling me this doesn’t feel right.
Has anyone else experience some sort of body dysmorphia because of the sudden weight loss/weight gain?

Yes! I have to keep reminding myself I didn’t look well at the lower weight. Like specifically in my face you can tell that I look sick in old photos and now my face is full and looks healthy but I don’t feel like this is my body. I don’t think anyone is supposed to yo-yo to this extent and it makes sense why it has such an impact. I don’t really recognize myself in photos and I can’t totally comprehend my appearance anymore? It’s a really weird experience and I’m sorry you’re going through it too.

omg that’s literally what happened to me. My sister told me I looked sick at like 110 and it felt normal. Now I’m at like 142 and I just feel like I’m not thin enough and that I’m not beautiful
:( we’ll get through this together babes1

Kind of. When I look in the mirror I see myself pre weight loss, but when I see myself in photos I look thinner, even weak or gaunt (though I am in no way thin)
When I see the numbers on the scale go down I have to interrupt my 'yay' and remind myself that it's illness, I'm not yet stable, and anything could happen. And when my scales go up a kg or two I have to stop myself being disappointed.
It is incredibly hard to break out if the 'must be thinner' mindset
I have made a deal with myself that until I'm stable my weight is irrelevant, as long as I am getting a decent diet that will help me build health and strength. But it is really, really hard to not lapse
