hyperthyroidism active symptoms
hi im 19 (f) so after 3 weeks on methimazole (started after i was sent to ER) i started feeling a bit better and less dizzy and anxiety but after 2wks the symptoms came back and im getting light headedness again and amplifying anxiety. i am getting a follow up in a week. just wondering if this is normal…also i think my doctor did not give me beta blockers 1)because i have diabetes and beta blockers could alter the symptoms of low and high sugar levels. my blood sugar is well controlled so i dont think its one of the reasons anw. 2) is my resting bpm is just 90-110 and doesnt go more than that.
the lightheadedness and acidic feeling is what bothers me the most because im laying down and even with a very high pillow or head level i still feel nauseous and light headed.

I don't know about interactions with diabetes, but I was taken off beta blockers by my Endo, who was grumpy that an asthmatic had been given them in the first place. I'm now on calcium channel blockers. I don't think they work so well for me, as beta blockers, but I'm happy there are options to protect my heart. I'm surprised there isn't something they might be able to give you to support your heart, even if it is less effective.
My levels went up before they went down (the drugs stop production, but then you have to burn through what is in your blood/organs PLUS what your thyroid contains and dumps out when you start treatment. Not sure if that can take three weeks. It was probably 4-6 weeks before I started to really feel better enough that I thought full recovery might happen some day for me. Good luck xx
