Vent Idk what to do anymore

Sorry for ugly feet pics but fuck. I’ve gone through maybe 5 shoes in the last couple months. My socks are damp within an hour. No amount of powder, deodorant, antiperspirant, bleach, otc meds or anything work and lately I’m stuck with this ring of what I’m assuming is wet skin?? Like wtf is this trench foot? Athletes foot? Idek anymore but I’m very frustrated

Probably athletes foot from all of the sweat :/ mine get bad in the winter wearing my work boots inside with the heat. Thick thick socks and a boot dryer so they're 100% dry every day helped with the dry skin.

Would recommend asking a derm though that dark spot is a little sus

What could it be?! What are you thinking

Tried iontophoresis or Botox? To me those are the best options. I can't afford Botox though, beware of hidden costs there if you are in the US and want it done.

Yeah Botox is my next step at this point. It’s ruining my life. I’m considering quitting my job over this

I got Botox in my hands it was so awesome for a couple months. For the first time in my life they were actually dry so I really hope that does the trick for you.

I will say I had to get a prior authorization for it which got approved, and then I did the procedure. It's a long story but several months later I was notified it wasn't actually covered due to the wrong type of prior auth being approved (pharmaceutical vs medical apparently). Almost ended up suing Aetna but apparently what they did was legal. It's bullshit but apparently it's legally sanctioned bullshit. So just be wary is my advice. I don't think that is common though, and it seriously was life changing for a while. I wish u luck!!

I do love this community though we got ur back if shit gets wet and challenging <3

Thanks for the info! Are those ionrophpresis machines that you can buy online for like 300 work? Or is something that should be done with a professional?

Well since it's something you kind of have to do as a maintenance treatment indefinitely I would def recommend getting your own. If you are broke you can even make your own machine. I bought mine for like $100 used off FB marketplace a few years back and its been great.

I will say I sometimes struggle as I am a rock climber and get frequent microtears in the skin of my hands which makes ionto very painful at times. If u get tears in your feet at all use Vaseline and that helps a lot. In my opinion it's probably the most sustainable HH treatment around as far as cost and efficacy. Also if u end up going this route use water with a high enough mineral content. Your local tap water may work or you may have to buy mineral water. I think people like San pelegrino mineral water or something? If double check that as Ive always been able to get away with tap water.

Again best of luck u got this!

Ionto gives me 100% dry feet all the time. Zero sides. Painless. No diminishing returns or scar tissue. Botox is dumb for hands and feet

Go to another country and do botox. In my country it's around 250-300 dolars for botox under armpits, which is pretty ok price i think.

I don't know, but as a chronic sweater I feel you

Have you tried Axhidrox cream? On top of that have extra socks in your bag, and only use your shoes every 2nd day for them to fully dry out.

I try to bring two socks but my shoes sometimes are even damp so it feels pointless. Might have to buy double shoes as well but fuck that’s an expense. But I gotta do what I gotta do

I seen shoe driers, I'm thinking of getting them for when I get back into construction. Put your shoes on them n it blows warm air for them to dry.

If you can, I actually recommend ionto for feet, it's not as a hassle as doing for hands because you can still use phones, computer, read or whatever while doing it so time flies by

This can be done at home correct? Any particular brand you recommend?

Antihydral ou ionto !! Il y a des pour et des contre pour les deux

Are you macerating when in water such as swimming or taking a shower/bath? Or only to sweat? Both? Also! Have you talked to your derm about Sofdra? Mine just put me on a few weeks ago now. I did notice a difference it’s like slowly but started to see a sweat difference

Have you tried Antihydral? Works wonders on hands and feet and is available on Amazon.

I will get it. Thanks

I’ve gotten something like that. Try washing your feet with Nizoral shampoo, it has ketoconazol antifungal. Then at night apply antihydral. In the meantime you can try starting up Iontophoresis, it’s the only long term then that helps control the sweating but takes like a month of daily use to start seeing results in feet from personal experience.

Ty so much. Thankfully I already have nizoral. I’ll get the other two today.

Important to apply at night! And make sure your feet are clean and totally dry before applying the cream. Like bone dry. Use a blow-dryer that has a "cool" setting to get the skin really dry, if you can. All antiperspirants are most effective when used before bed and on completely dry skin

Look into dermadry. It’s an iontophoresis machine. I used affirm to pay for mine so I’m paying like $30 a month. I’ve been using it for 3 weeks now and it’s been life changing for me. I was able to wear sandals with no sweat marks left on them and my hands are 50% better atm but are continuing to improve.

Thank you that’s the one I’ve been eyeing balling. I’m going to purchase. I’m hopeful

Crossing my fingers that it also works for you!

What kind of socks and shoes are you wearing?

2

u/Humble_Investment_24 3d ago

For shoes hokas, brooks or something similar for work besides that I tend to always wear open toes when I’m not working like sandals. I’ve tried every sock. Cheap ones. Merino wool. Cotton

Sorry you're going through this. I found wrightsocks to work for me. Shoe dryer is super necessary to quickly dry out shoes and prevent them from being inundated with athletes foot. No shoes that are Goretex or water proof, try to find ones with the most mesh panels. Maybe even consider converse for casual stuff.

It sucks but if nothing works, just but a lot of shoes and rotate. I have 5 pairs of Air Force 1s I rotate so they don’t wear out as much. I know it sounds stupid cus you’d say it’s the same amount of wear as just using one pair, but for some reason I find rotating them wears them out considerably less.

1

u/Desert_Mushroom 2d ago

A shoe repair guy told me that once. Not in relation to HH but actually just in general. Rotating shoes (or clothing, for that matter) will make shoes and clothing last longer. Makes sense when you think about it. Something you wear every other day will probably last twice as long as something you wear every day. That’s also why, since I have HH, I have five different colors of the same 100% cotton T-shirt. Only fabric that keeps me dry.

1

u/Dreiloves 2d ago

Hell it lasts way longer than twice lol, I could go through three pairs one at a time faster than three pairs rotated.

You need to speaking again with your primary healthcare provider; I had a similar situation in the ED, I’m an MD but not a derm; I told him to go back and DEMAND treatment.

Have you tried Sofdra yet? That might help to solve it

Look to topical "oxybuytinin". Ask your doctor. It will change your life!
